For the majority of my life I live a boring, dull, mediocre life. But during the short time I'm able to listen to this great intellectual, I feel I'm being truly educated, enlightened and rising above the dull lifeless masses. I feel for a short time my citizenship does have value, that it's worth more than a mess of pottage.

I am from the USSR - Ukraine. In 1990 I felt that the USSR is going to face big calamity, so I left to Israel. Then moved to Canada. USSR collapsed with a lot of noise and tragedy for her citizens. Today I have the same feel for Canada and the USA - big calamity ahead with a lot of human tragedies. Does anyone has another Globe?

I remember being taught in high school, nearly 60 years ago, that there were certain conditions that HAD TO EXIST in a society in order for that society to be able to exist and function as a democracy, or a democratic republic. Sadly, I have forgotten most of those essentials. BUT (!!) what Dr. Hanson has pointed out fall very much along the same lines. A large and vibrant middle class, an attitude of voluntary compliance [I don't need an ever present police to make me stop at stop signs], overwhelming majority of citizens who are literate and understand each other, ( etc. ) are just some of the necessities. God Bless you, Dr. Hanson !!

My grandmother got off an immigrant boat in New York, worked in sweatshop, read the Yiddish newspaper and helped form the ILGWU. Her son went to university during the Depression, served in the Army in WW2 and became a university professor. Assimilation of core upwardly mobile values was the key. An outsider can become an insider. There is a price to pay and there are no guarantees of success.

Thank you so much, Mr. Hanson. I hope you will be invited to speak in many venues, not just conservative platforms. This is a critical message for America. Personally, I believe religion, specifically the WCC, is instigating these global policies to include open borders. According to an article in the WSJ the Pope has been organizing the Latin American caravans and calling for open borders. I do think there is a powerful force at work pushing globalization and tribal groups.
