He honestly deserves DPOY for what he has done this season. I really hope they consider the general impact on and off the floor, and think about the quality of players on teams, in that consideration. It is crazy how often Wemby comes in clutch defensively when the team needs stops. He might be tall, but his timing on blocks and some steals is insane....that isn't just easy to do, or every tall person would have 3-4 blocks a game.

i’ve been saying that if he is healthy for 10 more seasons before his body gives out, assuming the spurs build the team right, and he wins 7 DPOYs, 5 or 6 MVPs, and 4 or 5 rings he is the GOAT without question. that would be the greatest 10 year run by a player in the history of the league. i could easily see him averaging 30+, 13+ rebounds, 7+ assists, 2 steals and 5 blocks a night by year 3. his per 36 numbers are already almost there. remember he’s averaged for the whole season 22, 11, 5, with 1.5 steals and 3.5 blocks a night in 29 minutes as a rookie with a visible curve of massive improvement as the season has gone on. his numbers since the all star break have been absurd.

Based on this game and these incredible highlights Wemby should be considered for MVP because he made Jokic look ordinary and completely incapable of stopping him. This past week there has been considerable conversation that Jokic is the most deserving (and likely to win), but again based on this game it’s very clear what player is currently the most dominant and impressive on both sides of the court, and currently the best player of the game.

Everyone writes that, but actually he'll have occasional bad games along the way, just like anyone. He might not keep getting better, because other teams might adjust to his style of play. Only time will tell. He'll probably play about 5 more minutes per game next season, but maybe he'll have an ankle injury too. Who can say?
