Queen Victoria is the reason we put up Christmas trees. Queen Victoria is the reason we celebrate Christmas the way we do.

There's a record of Queen Charlotte, the wife of George III, having a tree decorated at Windsor Castle. Queen Charlotte died in 1817.

I can't thank you enough for taking me on this tour and explaining everything. I have not had the opportunity to go in person but you made me feel like I did. what an amazing woman and family. The love that Queen Victoria and Prince Albert had is what I would say that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have had as well.

What a beautiful presentation of the museum honoring one of history's most fascinating queens! Because she was so commanding, Victoria seemed taller to me when I studied European history in high school. And though a part of my ancestry were Irish refugees from Black 47 and my father held grudges against the British because of this, I still like to watch stories of a woman who had so much power, but was very human. And I do like the photograph of her smiling, years after she lost Albert. So sad she lost the love of her life when they were both in their 40's. As a widow, I sympathize. Anyhow, the video was well photographed and well narrated. Thanks!

Muchas gracias por habernos resumido esta exposición que en efecto, no todos pudimos ver en persona. Un detalle muy tocante, es que hayan puesto atención al lugar exacto donde Victoria conoció a su primo y se enamoró de él.

Seeing her as a woman and not as the image we all hold of the matronly older Queen almost moved me to tears. A wonderfully put together look at this exhibition.

Thank you for that very respectful documentary. Victoria and Albert were a love match & did set the ideal Standard for marriage, home & family. For many of us it still stands today. England was blessed to have them! Albert may have been a creative genius. To this day I am blessed by their example.

I had no idea that Queen Victoria and my mother shared a birthday. I've watched so many documentaries about Queen Victoria and never made the connection until I saw that date at the beginning. My youngest daughter's middle name is Victoria because of my love and fascination with the queen.

A beautifully presented and voiced presentation of the 2019 exhibition. Michael Canadas' voice is exactly right: it is clear, modulated and measured, something that the Queen herself would have liked!

Oh my gosh! I loved this! Thank-you so much for the background information, how she was at certain points in her life. I know she was very tiny in her youth and mostly during her marriage but, later in her life I wouldn’t have considered her “tiny”...... short....yes but, not tiny. I loved the love story between her and her beloved Albert. Very few marriages, especially in royalty, are so happy as theirs. 22 years of being in love with your best friend and being loved by your best friend are so rare. I was married at the same age Victoria was widowed 2 years younger than her. We were each other’s best friend and soulmate. We were married 20 years.....the best years of my life. I can truly empathize with Victoria..... the overwhelming grief and unimaginable sense of loss.

Queen Victoria was also known for her love of the Pomeranian dog breed and even owned 35 Pomeranians in her lifetime and even at the time of her death in 1901 she asked for her favorite Pom “Turi” to keep vigil at her side on her death bed.

She was so beautiful!! I just recently started learning more about the history of the British royals (I hope that's the right terminology, I'm American and like I said, only recently started learning more about them). I never knew how pretty she was or that her and her husband were so in love with each other! It's such an amazing and beautiful story!

I’m an American who is extremely fascinated by the history of Britain and the British Monarchy. For the Monarchy the best place to start is the Norman conquest of 1066 by William the Bastard turned William the Conqueror. There were other Kings before him, but those were mostly ruling over portions of the land. Also, can’t forget Queen Boudicca of the Celtic Iceni who fought the Romans to her death in 60-61 AD. Then look up the Plantagenets with Henry the second getting his friend the Archbishop of Canterbury murdered do to rash words he spoke out in front of his knights. And then the war of the Roses which lead to the most famous Tudor, Henry VIII that had 6 wives and created the Church of England. Oh and then there was the warming bedpan baby propaganda that lead to a whole lot of other changes. Queens having other Queens murdered, Kings killing other Kings. All the King named George and the awful and sad events that lead up to the birth of Queen Victoria. I’ve left a lot of details out, but it’s truly so very fascinating! Edit to add that if that sort of stuff interests you, then you’d probably also find the Tsars of Russian history fascinating too.
