It turned out beautifully! I like the shaker look on the cabinet doors better than the plain panel because it looks more thoughtful. Like the carpenter spent more time on the door, not just put a handle on a flat piece of wood. But either way looks nice. Love the wood around the fridge and love that you chose a white fridge instead of stainless! The floors are gorgeous and that blue rug just makes it all pop. Very well thought out and executed. And that island table is more like an altar girl! You’re gonna love cooking and working on it. ❤️

Many years and homes ago, I placed a shelf over my stove, and it lasted about 2 weeks. The grease and steam from cooking left a film on my cups and dishes which attracted dust. My ocd couldn’t handle it. I then found some metal hooks and hung my cast iron skillets on them. It turned out beautiful and functional. I use my skillets everyday, so it just worked out best for me. That island is gorgeous. I’m honestly envious of that island! The larger window is dreamy! Those brass sconces set the whole place off. You have a beautiful style that’s really all your own! Congratulations on a new kitchen!

I have been looking forward to this reveal for quite a while and it did not disappoint! I love it all! I have one of those big cast iron sinks as well. What makes it so special is that it belonged to my grandmother.I rescued it out of a ditch! You did an amazing job on the whole thing!

Great job on your beautiful kitchen! My sister had a 1916 home with a large kitchen. She had a large window similar to yours and she placed a large shelf over it to display beautiful things. Reminds me so much of yours. Thanks for sharing!

I love this kitchen! You did a wonderful job. I wouldn't change the different cabinets/drawers at all. The way it is gives the idea that the kitchen evolved, was put together as it would have been - with things you had rather than purchasing. It's lovely and warm and perfect for your family!

Congratulations!! It looks beautiful, homey, comfortable and stylish. I renovated my kitchen ( farmhouse 1989) a few years ago by replacing the top cabinets and benchtops. I love it and just look at it enjoy and it everyday. So enjoy your gorgeous kitchen everyday too!

And that's how Lisa does it!! You have pulled it off quite spectacular my dear and I am just in awe. Your kitchen is a true working kitchen. I have seen so many gorgeous kitchens worth of thousands dollars where the mainly thing that gets used is the microwave. Yours on the other hand has cutting boards and knives and salt and pepper by the stove. There is no triangulation involved ( who came up with that concept anyways? Most likely a person who doesn't cook), it's just functional and designed to help the home cook cook without walking around to exhaustion.Well done!

Love it! Ever since I saw the chandelier you have in your bedroom I’ve been searching high and low for one just like it. I was unwilling to buy one new and full price or the $400+ ones in antique shops near me. O my, this is a treasure box with all those old and precious pieces. And not stuffed or overloaded at all. Your sink, the ornaments, what a gorgeous After. The kitchen cabinets you took down were very much like my grandma’s kitchen in the north of Norway, only hers were painted white. She died in 1976, at 86 years old, so her kitchen probably was from around 1910 or a bit (10-15 years?) earlier, as my granddad was married to her cousin originally, but she died quite young and my grandma came to help the widower with his children and ended out marrying him. I remember that when I was a kid, I admired her kitchen so, with the beautiful glass door cabinets and a big, old fashioned stove. They were just so much more pretty than the 1950’s/1960’s cabinets that most had. After my grandma died, a cousin of mine bought the house and land and tore the house down to build a house there, but first he saved the kitchen cabinets. They may still be in my now late uncle’s old house, hope so! 🤗

Your kitchen is marvelous! Only item missing for me is a kitchen wood stove. We have a 1930 Home Comfort in addition to our propane stove. That center island is excellent! Our working farm kitchen is set in the 1920s and 1930s. There is a 1924 oak Hoosier baking cabinet. I used to have an oak side board like yours. Just wonderful, the way you combined white with oak!

Absolutely stunning! I love that you kept the character of the home and that it's not just gray and white which seems to be the thing now. I love the warmer tones of the wood and the classic style of the home. You nailed this design and I'm in love. I have a 1920s colonial home and my kitchen cabinets are metal, the wall is gray and I did paint them white because they were yellow before, but now seeing your makeover, its prompting me to want bring the kitchen into the style of the rest of my home which is creams, beige, wood and more natural neutral tones. Very nice work on the kitchen. My farmhouse is also over a hundred years old and the previous owners (1960s -2014) paneled the living room, dining room and the kitchen. I painted over the paneling but put bead board on the ceiling in the kitchen. It's expensive to have the plaster redone but I had it done in the living & dining rooms. I think folks used the paneling because it was the "in" thing to do for awhile plus it covered up any plaster defects. 🙂
