Usually, it would have been the nanny or governess who would have been tasked with reading you a story from your favorite book, because both mommy and daddy would have been too busy doing their own thing, and wouldn't have had much time to be parents. THEN, after you reached a certain age, you would have been shipped off to boarding school to stay out of mommy and daddy's hair, until you were old enough to take care of yourself. 🙄
