Dear Mrs. Chrisman, Thank you for your books. And Thank you for your lifestyle. I have read most of your books and currently I am reading “This Victorian Life.” My husband and I have a love for the past and are looking for ways to incorporate the lifestyle of yesteryear more completely into our daily lives. Currently, we do living history (which is how we met). However, we find that once the event is over, there is a void in our life when we return to the “modern world.” Reading your stories gives us encouragement and some potential tips for us to achieve our goal. Thank you again for all you do and please continue to share your gift of writing with us.

It's great Sarah...I love the formal and strict American system of that era... all I was told is that it was Christian, Bible based and filled with a lot of protocols regarding social interaction among the people living in these large cities of America. The young were brought up properly with Christian philosophies and express themselves in writing in a clear and perfect way. They would be taught how to speak formally and if possible study in the best Colleges American Society has to offer...

Bekka Litzner I agree, come to Mackinac Island. And enjoy traveling by carriage or bicycle (by the way, by the way, as Bekka Litzner and I know, you can bring your own bicycles to the island).

Hello! Great to see you again! I enjoyed watching your video about your wonderful Coventry rotary roadster tricycle! It does look a little strange, but, back in the olden days, they must have been "the latest thing"! I liked your riding skirt! Very nice! Thanks for sharing this video!!! Cheers! ~Janet in Canada

Thank you so much, this was the most informative and fun video. Sorry the worldly reporters let you down. Is it hard to pedal uphill with that? It's a glorious tricycle.

Great to see you in a video again! It was very interesting to see the tricycle and to hear about it. I have a question about cycling uphill: do you have to give up sooner and walk, when using a tricycle? You don't have the handlebars to lean on, so you can put more weight on the feet and pedals.

Beautiful Trike! Is the chain guard original equipment? I always wondered how women kept their skirts out of the spokes and chain, and a chain guard and a heavy skirt would seem to help.

I first read about the Coventry Rotary over 20 years ago in a book on antique bicycles and have wanted one ever since. I even went so far as to draw plans to build one. They are a very unique looking machine with the two-track format with the large side wheel. Yours looks like a reproduction, where did you find it?

I had only seen later Victorian safety bikes and they are basically the same for men and women, so when I first saw this, I found it really annoying (sorry) why do girls always had to have the weird, cumbersome stuff? I see now it’s not as annoying as it first appeared to me. They must have not been very common-I rarely see images of them.
