I like the corkscrew feature because of the aftermarket stuff you can install. I have the FireAnt Firestarter and Helix Tinders. With my Victorinox Camper and these two extra features, I have the ability to process wood and get a fire going in an emergency. It's the perfect combination that you can just throw in your pocket for peace of mind!

I had mentioned sometime last year I wanted a Sak. Well for Christmas my wife bought me the swiss champ. My daughter bought me the Ranger 79 and the Farmer Alox which is in my EDC knapsack. Very happy with all of them. This year I gonna mention I could use a Ferrari, LOL hey you never know. Thanks for the review

This Camper is my EDC since 2007, recently I bought Hiker which replaces corkscrew with philips screwdriver. Both versions are awesome.

Will have to look at trying the hiker out mate a philips screwdriver would be much more handy. Thanks for watching dude.

@@aussieaxedude154 The can opener can be used as a flat philips so I prefer one with a corkscrew. Also I would bite the bullet for a little more thickness to get scissors also i.e. the Huntsman.

@@aussieaxedude154 I love the Huntsman too, but 3 layers is the perfect size in the pocket for me. Camper and Climber are great. Wish there was a 3 layer Huntsman, using the combo tool instead of the small blade, and no openers layer. Kind of a Compact added with a saw. ^^

Buy the EvoGrip S17 its corkscrew can be used as tool holder for a fire ant ferro rod & a tinder spiral or replace the toothpick with a Firefly ferro rod & have a tinder spiral held in place on the corkscrew by a mini-screwdriver. I have both the S17 & S18 & I'm sorry to say the Philips screwdriver on the back of the S18 is difficult to use as as a back layer tool, its far better to have an in-line Philips screwdriver that you get on other 91mm models such as the Spartan Lite, Huntsman Lite, the Explorer & the 111mm Outrider

I have 2 Campers, one is a collectors model - the NutSak scaled Camper from Tortoise Gear ( the makers of the Firefly & Fire Ant ferro rods & Tinder Spirals for SAK's ) & the other I use as part of my EDC rotation as I have it fitted with the Nite Ize hip clip . Although the stick on Nite Ize clip ( available on both Ebay & Amazon ) is meant principally for mobile phones it has stuck quite well on the 91mm Camper - I stuck it on the front scale just bellow the Tweezer channel & it reaches down & partially covers the Victorinox shield logo. It clips easily into pockets but its not got as tight a grip as the SwissQlip has ( I have SwissQlips fitted to several Huntsman & Climbers ) , you can probably use a plier to squeeze it tighter but I have not done so. I chose the Camper for this experiment because its a 3 layer SAK and 4 layers like the Huntsman ( which is my favourite carry ) are IMO just a bit too heavy & bulky for a stick on clip that uses a 3M adhesive strip. I am going to stick one on 2 Alox models the 1 layer Swiss Army 2 ( AKA the Pruner ) & the 2 layer Swiss Army 6 ( AKA the Rancher - discontinued in 2020 but stocks are still available on Ebay ) I have already bought the clips & await for the 2 Alox knives to arrive from a supplier in Russia ) . In general I prefer the Huntsman or the Farmer X over the Camper, as they have both a wood saw & a scissors and if I am really going into the woods or camping I will be taking my 111mm Outrider .
@aussieaxedude1543 жыл бұрын
Wow dude I see you really know your SAKs got my eye on the Huntsman next also heard the explorer goes hard. Big fan of the camper due to its 3 layers. Thanks for watching mate.

@@aussieaxedude154 G'day Mate! I have Liked your video & subscribed to your channel, I am Subscriber #44 , onward to 1K Subscribers ! I am a former Londoner & nowadays live in Tel Aviv. Ever since I was a schoolboy in England I had at least one SAK in my pocket, usually a 58mm classic on my key ring & a 84mm Bantam as my main pocket knife, I still have one of my old 84mm Bantam's that is at least 40 years old, an economy model with no scale tools & a printed on Victorinox logo that from constant use wore off, but last year I replaced the faded red scales with brand new black ones this time one with scale tools although I no longer carry it in my EDC rotation. My daily EDC consists of 2 SAK's , one of which is the 58mm Midnite Manager as my default keyring knife with its mini-tools, LED & pen. The 2nd knife in my EDC is one that I rotate between a Gentleman's blade & a dedicated multi-tool SAK. My Gentleman's knife collection includes the 111mm Garant, 93mm Pioneers, Pioneer X's, the Farmer X & the 84mm Cadet & 84mm Sportsman. My Multi-tool collection consists of five 91mm Huntsman , either unmodified like the Silvertech model or 4 all fitted with a SwissQlip for convenient pocket carry & different coloured Plus scales, the 91mm Camper with the Nite Ize clip, 4 modified 91mm Climbers ( 3 fitted with Swiss Qlips & different coloured Plus scales & 1 with a Silvertech front scale & a black rear Plus scale ) & lastly two 85mm EvoGrip S17's ( basically a smaller version of the Huntsman but with contoured plastic & rubber scales & a safety lock blade, I have one with Red/Black scales & one with Yellow/Black scales ). All my Multi-tool knives ( 91mm & 85mm ) are fitted with the Firefly ferro rod in place of the toothpick and a tinder spiral on the corkscrew held in place by a mini-screwdriver. Depending on what I am doing or where I am going on any particular day I choose either a Gentleman's knife or a Multi-tool & if I am going out to dinner in the evening then it will be a lighter slimmer Gentleman's knife such as the standard Pioneer, the Cadet or Sportsman rather than a bulky multi-tool like the Huntsman in my pocket. I have larger knives like the Mountaineer & the Explorer but don't usually pocket carry them & for a home tool desk top set I use the Ranger, the Deluxe Tinker, the Spartan Lite & the 84mm Watch Opener and as I noted above I also have the large 111mm Outrider - basically an oversize Huntsman with the addition of an in-line Philips screwdriver.

@@stevesinclair4159 much appreciated dude. They really do make a SAK for every situation. Never owned one that wasn't red other then the Swiss Army Hunter Pro which more of a folding belt knife might have to look into making my next SAK a different colour. The Hunter Pro is an excellent Little folder id highly recommend.
@stevesinclair41593 жыл бұрын
@@aussieaxedude154 Happy Monday, have a safe new week down under!! The Hunter Pro is good looking knife, I don't personally need one or have a need to carry one as I have a few other large knives that I carried when I was in the army & occasionally went camping & backpacking when I was young ( a large military combat knife & a medium / large sized Bowie knife - both kept clean & sharp and locked away ) The Hunter Pro would also make a good back up self defence carry knife but I'm well covered on that score too with a 3.5" blade OTF Microtech style knife which I'll carry when traveling away from home .
