After hearing a lot about this Swiss army knife online I finally got my hands on one and gave it a try. The combination of scissors and the wood saw along with the usual Victorinox tools takes the Huntsman to the next level of Swiss Army Knives. Really liked the multi purpose hook for and old school touch. A real pleasure to use the Victorinox Huntsman Swiss army knife is an excellent companion for your next outdoor adventure.

Corkscrew is the best. Here are just some of useful things it can do: 1. Opens corked bottles (duh!) 2. Untie knots. 3. Pry the battery out of a cell phone. 4. Screw it into a wall and hang your coat on the SAK. 5. Staple remover. 6. Smooth out the hole you just made with the reamer. 7. Clear clogged faucet sprayer. 8. Bicycle tire valve tool. 9. Holds the micro screwdriver. 10. Pick gravel out of tires. 11. Rip open a blister package. 12. Ice pick. 13. Mark a pilot hole. 14. Clean mud out of shoe soles. 15. Knot the end of a cord. Thread it through the corkscrew. Handle. 16. Pop balloons. 17. Aides in sewing. 18. Clean mud out of sprinkler heads. 19. Push used snare wire through it, to straighten out the wire and remove coils or kinks. 20. Pulls the drain plug out of a tub. 21. Open the corkscrew and screw it tightly into a broomstick-thickness stick. Now open the blade. Tie it securely. Survival spear for fishing. 22. Hang the SAK from a piece of cordage from the ceiling. Plumb bob (I have the middle of the handle marked on one mine). 23. Corkscrew + a metal lid = a filter or wire mesh for cooking. 24. Carry a chunk of C4. 25. Pull frozen shoestrings tight, or help loosen them. 26. Helps get the innards out of a squirrel. 27. Gets the candle stub out of a candle holder. 28. Start fights on multitool forums. 29. Remove the fuel filter from a lawn mower. 30. Although the new corkscrews are 4 turns, you can use them for range estimation. 31. O-ring remover for your flashlights. 32. Pry out partially-exposed nails. 33. Tighten the apron strings on a wrestling ring. 34. The inside diameter of the corkscrew is 1/4". I'm sure you know what you can do with this. 35. Open just a small hole in a coconut. 36. Lift stuck items out of boxes. 37. Fish the tape out of a clogged VHS tape. 38. Remove patches from a flintlock gun. 39. Remove the inside of a shotgun shell, making a blank. Remove the wad and powder too. 40. If you don't want the mini screwdriver, the corkscrew can hold a ferro rod. 41. Tap a tree for sap. 42. Undo zip ties without breaking them. ✌️😉

Nice video review of the SAK Huntsman model. I’ve carried a Huntsman (Red handle scales) for years. It has proven to be an excellent everyday carry knife and a good choice as a second blade for bushcraft work in the woods. I slip a SAK Huntsman into my pocket every time I put on my pants. It is multifunctional and always cuts. - Tennessee Smoky

My favorite EDC is the old 74mm Victorinox Executive (now discontinued)... not too small and not too big... "large" blade, small blade, scissors, nail file with nail cleaner, orange peeler with a flat head screw driver on the end... I often use the nail cleaner for a phillips screw driver... the scissors and a good nail file are must haves, as I'm always breaking a finger nail doing stuff and need a quick fix/repair. I recently bought a Mountaineer (91mm 4 layers), mainly because it has the metal file, which is great for finger nails and the it has a nail cleaner that can also be used for a phillips screwdriver... it does not have the saw, but the metal file does have a saw on it. Then I discovered the Ranger (91mm 5 layers)... it has what the Mountaineer has, plus the wood saw, and a couple extract back tools... the extra layer does not add that much bulk to it.. I've added titanium pocket clips that I got off of ebay that are super tight, and have yet to have one come loose like a cheaper pocket clip did... having the SAK hang from your pocket and not at the bottom of your pocket is so much more comfortable... love these pocket clips ! I've been adding my own custom Sambar stag scales to these knives and love the look and feel of them even more... a lot of guys doing custom work on their swiss army knives these days... lots of fun !

Corkscrew is underrated; you already have two drivers on the ends of the cap lifter/flat head tool. Corkscrew will untie tight knots, hold eye glass repair screwdriver, or tinder.

Sak Outrider vs Huntsman, which is better for trekking and why ? Please share your knowledge!
@aussieaxedude154
@aussieaxedude154 Жыл бұрын
Honestly bro the Outrider is a beast the fact the blade locks, it has a longer saw and an inline Philips driver is a pretty combo in my opinion. The Huntsman has the additional small blade and the parcel hook which is handy and is slightly cheaper in price. The Huntsman will do everything you need it to do no worries but in terms of over all ergonomics I think the Outrider is superior. Thanks for watching mate.
