That was difficult tp watch. Miami clearly out played their opponent and still found a way to lose. If you are on the field, you have to catch the ball. If the ball is on the ground, you have to fight for it. Fundamentals trump talent most of the time.

I just don't get it - Miami is ranked #13, playing a team that just lost to Appalachian state, is starting their back-up QB, suspended a handful of key contributors and lost two more starters early on due to targeting... and STILL couldn't get within a touchdown of Texas 8&4. Very, very frustrating, especially when you took the Hurricanes and the points.

I read an article recently on Tyler Van Dyke. you know the kind of article; the next great miami QB type of thing and what was in my opinion, unwarranted hype. After seeing this game it just illustrates how ordinary he is. Based on last season results I'd say he is a decent to good QB but I can't see first or early round draft ability.

It would have been different if Restrepo played; however, A & M lost two players due to targeting. I would have traded 2 first downs and two starters on defense for Restrepo.. The mistake by stevenson returning the was the turning point of the game. Van Dyke sucess last year was part of Leshee's system. I believe Garcia might be a better fit for this offense. I was actually hoping for a different offense coordinator. Not that Gattis is bad just did not seem like a good fit for the quarterback. Maybe in the long term he will be good once he gets all the players he wants. Cristobol has proven himself a good recruiter I just hope he lets the coaches coach and stays out of the play calling. He seems so conservative.

Miami is as good if not better than Texas A&M. It was clear that Miami psyched themselves out before they even started the game. They gave Texas A&M way too much respect. The quarterback overshooting receivers and receivers dropping balls everywhere was more than enough to kill the UM attack. If you take that into consideration and look at the score, it is clear that Miami could have won that game. The Hurricanes looked jittery the entire game. Something or someone brought nervousness into that locker room unnecessarily. Texas A&M was not that good.

Lol I’m not a Miami fan but you seem salty about the fact that Oregon is on the decline and won’t be a factor for many years to come. I don’t think anybody expected Miami to run the table and make the playoff this year. I figured they’d lose 2-3 games with all of the new pieces that came in. Head coaches usually don’t come in and go undefeated in their first year, ya know? The recruits Cristobal will bring to Miami are A LOT different than the ones coming to Eugene. Miami is trending way up and if I had to guess, I’d say they’ll be replacing Clemson at the top of the ACC very soon

@@christopher7763 Try a little research before you comment. Look at Oregons recruiting for the last 5 years. They recruited and landed talent from all over. They’ve got 4 and 5 star talent and had top 10 recruiting classes with a few top 5. They recruited kids out of the southeast and landed them. That is the entire point to this thread, he can recruit like crazy, but the man is not a good coach!!! Justin Herbert is a prime example of decent field product, then goes into the NFL and lights it up. As far as Oregon fans, Cristobal was appreciated for getting Oregon out of the Willie Taggert mess and elevating Oregons recruiting. The same comments you see here, are the same comments about Cristobal’s coaching while at Oregon. Consistent frustration, game after game, even when Oregon won. Everyone understands why Cristobal left for Miami, it’s his Alma Mater and home. Who could blame him? They are salty because ‘how’ he left. It was shady as hell, and left Oregon decimated from recruits de-committing and coaches following or talking other jobs... He leveraged Oregon to get a better contract through Miami, all while promising to Oregon fans and school, that he has no plans on leaving. Cristobal literally pulled a “Slick Willie Taggert” when he left. He constantly talked about being a better man, family, dedication, sacrifice and doing things the right way. He did the opposite while sneaking out the door just before their Bowl game and signing day. So yes, Oregon fans are VERY salty. You would too if he’d pull that on your team.

It would help if Miami's receivers would catch the ball and hold on to it. A&M rushing caused the Mismi QB to make errors, since he is a comparatively slow passer. I can not criticize the Mizmi offense too much, because A&M defensive team is big, quick, and tough! They made the Hurricanes look like a tropical storm, still capable of damage, but allowing A&M to have an opportunistic win, despite the statistics. A&M offense has room for improvement as their depth is developed. Aggies needed this win. They are still learning how to "gel" as a winning team, with so many new, young starters. This ain't high school football any more, freshmen. Everyone on the field was a high school star. Get serious and learn to play your coaches' game plan! You ain't special no more, you are now a team player. Gig'em Aggies.

I can't believe people actually think Miami is good still. Like it's 97 or something.

Both of these teams are highly overrated and will have at least 4 or 5 losses by the end of the season

Willie Taggert, Scott Frost, and Mario Cristabol. Note to Oregon coaches, don't quit and go to the state of Florida. It ends up bad. hahahahahaha

Frost actually had some brief success at UCF, so there's that. At Nebraska, not so much.

Miami out gained a&m, had more first downs, but couldn't score tds or get the breaks. A&m is not good. Just got lucky.

well, whos wants to be a number one wide out? were taking all transfers!!! tight ends," LIKE I SAID", had some of the best plays tonight. , no screens, no wheel routes? hhmmm.. Williams and Kitchens are a great pair a the safety spot. and Ivey? im glad he didn't transfer. stay and fight for time.. and it has paid off. Williams will have to learn to control his body, and tackle low. couch will have to learn how to tackle.. PERIOD..Kitchens looks like a draft pick, and Blades? keep watching film dude.. tackle lower! in a situation like the muffed punt.. dude, when he buffs it, nearest man, crush him! knock him off, as ur boys behind," should be at least 2", can recover the punt. they had numbers and should have had it.. crush the returner, and let ur team behind you get the ball..

Poor execution on the pass game and special teams costed Miami the game. Also Mario Cristobal playing it safe and conservative as always. Glad he’s out of Oregon now. Great recruiter but poor at player development and a decent game manager at best

Pretty much 2 name brand teams that are both average but get to stay in the rankings because of their name to sell for the networks. They tried so hard to make this game exciting. This is the fake college football they promote.

...the U is back, huh lil?? Nice few field goals against a team who couldn't get a W over App State. The ACC is garbage this year. Gonna take us all several seasons with these new coaches to be ready to compete

One team coached to win the game and the other coached not to lose by playing conservative the entire game. I'm a hurricane fan and I don't think they should have been ranked that high. Defense played good enough to win. The one who had the most hype wasn't making great decisions and the offensive coordinator is trash. He didn't make 1 adjustment the entire game.

Remember miami lost to app state and has a worse qb. This is now a prep school football team and after this single loss I hang up my miami fanship just like they gave up their swag. Please don't play ND because, the last time we played them was the last time we were good. Should have made the playoffs and faced alabama or Clemson that year maybe Ohio state. Probably would have lost but, it would have been a nice fairwell. Instead they lose to NC. Please stop getting excited about recruits or a new coach or a new year. For me miami aka the convicts have been put to the death penalty for their hanous excuse for a football team. Btw I lost 40k on the game believing in the hype one last time. And don't tell me they need time. LsU didn't need time when saban left. Try the next season they win the bcs. See the thing is your ether the best team in football or not. Miami is not and maybe in the next 60 years of my life they might be something but, I won't be watching.
