Its such a trope about big12 defense but the offensive schemes of Big12 were a step beyond the others for a while there. Air Raid with Smashmouth spread hybrids. It's HARD on the whiteboard, harder on the field to stop.

Texas making so many mistakes on their own on offense only made things harder. TCU's defense allowed open receivers and Texas was just never able to take advantage of it with overthrows and drops.

I think they were only ranked recently to be honest. Started the season unranked and have been in that 20ish range back and forth... Which is probably pretty fair. Lots of talent, but it's getting squandered right now.

Now, that would be "running into the kicker", a 5 yard penalty, not a 15 yard penalty. But it was 4th and 3...

I think they are referring to the out-of-conference teams. Colorado was the only team from a Power 5 on TCU's schedule - and they are 1-6 in conference play. Georgia had Oregon. Ohio State had Notre Dame (which is its own thing). Tennessee had Pittsburgh. But Michigan didn't have anyone and I don't see anyone complaining about them.

That makes sense. One thing for sure The SEC team you play is going to figure out your weakness just by watching this game.
