I’m reminiscing on this App State roster that was all Scott Satterfield recruits. There’s 5+ guys on the field for App that are on NFL rosters or are starters, and a lot more that played a couple years or were invited to camps. Just stacked for a GO5 team.

They don't schedule it that way. Games are scheduled several years in advance. So you'll never really know what you're getting when the time comes to play your non-conf opponents. Furthermore, only fans view us as easy games, rest assured after 07' there is not a coaching staff (and players if they have any sense) that won't take App St seriously. They may feel they can beat us IF they play but they know it won't be an easy battle.

Beat an underrated UNC team and won every other game, including wins over Charlotte and Coastal Carolina to solidify themselves as the best team in the Carolinas outside of Clemson.

Ok, so I’m going to give reasons for South Carolina’s loss. 1. Injuries. We had just a handful of starters on both sides of the ball, including Brian Edwards, although that was only the first half. 2. We can’t run. For whatever reason, our O line couldn’t block, and our backs couldn’t run. 3. Our receivers dropped sooooooo many passes. Like, and absurd amount of passes. In the first half alone, I’m pretty sure we had 4 or 5 dropped passes. That should be in 4 or 5 games, not ONE. 5. Hilinski CHOKED on that last play. Not a defender in sight but he thought it’d be a fantastic idea to throw it at a fan. Yeah, sure am proud to be a Gamecock. Now Muschamp is in trouble but I think only a little bit of this was his fault.

@@christhornton1785 Yeah, I'm thinking that is the case, too. I like Muschamp, but he's missing some key head coach DNA somewhere. What's the main complaint with Muschamp teams? Offense. I feel like we'd be better off lining it up old school pro style with a simpler playbook, at least in games where we have greater size and talent. The way I understand it, the spread started as a compensatory offense for teams that didn't have the same talent as the big boys. I could be wrong, but all of these sideline audibles seem to be trying to be too clever. What if somebody's showing something to on defense to get you to audible out of what you do well? I could be wrong, but it seems like the game could benefit from some older offensive styles returning with some modern twists. Take the perennial success of option teams against modern defenses, for instance. That's just my $0.02, so take it for what it's worth.

Lots of people keep talking about how App St. should move into a power five conference but the main problem is, even though their football team has been good for years and dominated the Sun Belt, most of the rest of their sports have struggled since moving to the Sun Belt. Like their men's basketball team hasn't had a winning record in years. They just aren't up to power five conference level. They are barely at Sun Belt level. If they could find a conference that would take them in football only then fine; but most of the power five likely wouldn't (MAYBE the AAC but that's it. And I know the ACC took Notre Dame in everything but football - but it's Notre Dame).

SC had the Opportunity to beat AL, GA amd FL this year. Instead of complaining about the schedule, the coaches should have been learning how to finish games. They jumped oit quick on Bama (which is a big key to beating them) and FL (who you just have to score on, offense not explosive) and played lights out on GA (who has proven they can't coach close games). No. Wasn't the schedule. It was the coaching and preparation.
