So, I was planning to introduce your channel to my Dad because of the shorts and the excellent writing and direction contained therein (he teaches screenwriting, so I feel like he'd appreciate what you make), but as I was looking at your channel in order to compose my email to him I realized I'd never sat down and watched one of your full-length videos. I'm really glad I did, and I'm really glad it was this one that I chose. I'm not a New Yorker, or even an East Coaster at all. Hell, I'm just about as far as you can get from the East Coast. But watching this video, I found myself struck with a deep nostalgia for my own childhood, and sense of sameness and/or solidarity with you. Growing up as a West Coast man, I actually hit a lot of similar "story notes" (for lack of a better way to describe them at the moment) as those you mention in this video. Things like going to parties at laser tag places and arcades with the creepy mice (shoutout to Charles Entertainment Cheese), going to events at the nearby lodge bc my parents were members (though given how my mom talks about that lodge, I think I may have been misremembering that for a long time lol), hanging out at the local park, etc. Despite all the little differences in the details, the broad strokes feel quite the same, and it really makes me appreciate how special one's hometown can be. Now when I recommend this channel to my Dad, I'll be sure to direct him to these full-length videos as well. I think they'll resonate with him just as much as the shorts will impress him. Especially since he and I used to go out for exploratory drives around the city (of which he is _also_ a born-and-raised native), where he'd share with me both the history of our city, and his own personal memories of the area (and how it's changed). Thank you for this video. It's exactly the sort of thing that needs to exist in the world.

Damn that's an LA Fitness now? I used to watch movies at that Travis theater then go bowling, play at the arcades and eat pizza right next to it. Good times.
