Mine arrived today (Schout out to Guitarking in the Netherlands). I had a Jackson McFly, which was defective and a problem amp because of the choice of pre-amp tubes (Brad will hate me for saying this, but hey, he never answered any of my mails where I asked for help). This amp replaces the McFly perfectly. It's dead quiet even at high volume settings. The sound is superb. The reverb (tube driven) is soooo good (lush and warm). The tremelo is amazing. This is now officially my favourite amp (I have owned about 20 tube amps, from 500 to 3000 euro). I bought the head version, because I like playing through different cabinets. This amp is punching way above it's price point. It's not cheap, but the superb sound holds it's ground next to 3000 euro amps. You get more than you pay for. Oh, and it looks fantastic as well. Congratulations Victory!

The V40D is hands-down the best sounding amp I've ever owned. Very flexible with it's sounds even without pedals although I'd say if you're into metal then look elsewhere. Reverb tank is a nice addition. Its also not heavy so gigging with the head and 2x12 doesn't break my back but is still plenty loud enough for small to medium venues. Thumbs up from me Victory!

@turkinator1014 @turkinator1014 I don't own it... yet. I did test one out though. My pedal rig is simple. (In order) A modified boss SD1, Fuzzlord HM-6, EQD hizumitas, Lichtlaerm Audio Ritual and a Catalinbread Bellepoch Echo. I think that's a tricky one, but most of those artists play through Marshall's, and this is fender based. It all depends on the type of tones you want. Or you could get this for your cleans, and use a Sheriff pre amp pedal for your OD tones. There's lots of options. It all depends on the versatility you're looking for.

I've got the V40 deluxe head with the matching 112 cab now for two days. The 212 was not on stock and they will be exhanged in a few days or weeks. I've had a lot of trouble with UPS to get the Amp/Cab at my front door. Out of the box after connecting the speaker I plugged in a Strat .....No sound...It turned out to be a faulthy guitar cable, thank God. Out of the box the reverb and reverb tone were full on. With the new cable it was instant Chris Isaak- Blue Hotel but with a little more high mids. This amp is so balanced. I can not get a bad tone out of it. It's all in there...spanky cleans to fat overdrive and all in between even with Alnico 2 Classic 57 humbuckers . It's perfect for at home, also at the high setting because the pots are working as they are supposed to work , volume increase over the full range of the pot ( Fender, are you reading this??? ). When you have bass/middle & treble on zero you have no sound at all. IMHO this is how a tone circuit is supposed to work. They are basically volume pots in a certain frequency range. This is a tone monster. Fender cleans with a bit more mids to British style tones. This amp doesn't go into extremes . My search for a very good clean tone is over. It doesn't always have to be a Two Rock or a Dumble style amp . This amp and a Klon (clone) pedal with a Strat and you've got instant John Mayer . Maybe for some people the tremolo speed and the Reverb maxed out isn't enough , for me it is just perfect.

The Deluxe combo and heads are 42 Watts, but they do have the 7 watt low power mode. With the master volume you can run this quietly, it can be used for home use.

as much as I would love to buy a Victory Amp, the nearest dealer to me in the PNW is San Fransico, and I won't buy an amp without playing it first. So I had to go with a different manufacturer as much as I didn't want to. /shrug. Victory really needs to step up their availability in the PNW baaaaaad. So many guitarists I know would purchase one but refuse since they can't actually sit down with it first here locally. also, why are you guys using Strymon reverb when you have a tube driven tank reverb built into the damn thing? Anyway, love the way your amps sound over the internet, just wish I knew what they sounded like in person. I WANT TO GIVE YOU MONEY, don't make it so hard to do.

Can I ask a couple of quick questions here? I will purchase a V40 Deluxe Head sometime in the near future for sure, but I will most likely have to wait for later to get the 2x12 cab... Q1: I do have a Marshall 2536 cabinet for my mini jubilee. This is a closed back 2x12 cab with G12-65 creamback and V30. Will this cabinet do it justice if using either the Creamback alone or both? Q2: On your webpage it states that black cloth grill and black corners can be special ordered on the cabinet. Does this cost extra and would it be possible for the V40 Deluxe head as well?

Question 1 Answer - yes, it's a good cab. We optimise our cabs to work best with our amps but the Marshall is a goof alternative. Question 2 Answer - best to talk to your Victory dealer and get them to ask about special orders. Cheers!

Believe it or not it really depends on the individual effect because different companies definitions of line/instrument level varies, as do input/output impedance on different devices. Most normal pedals you run at instrument level - experiment with both and choose the one that sounds best to your ears. You won't damage anything - just be careful with your own ears!

Todesnuss when I bought my Kraken a month or so ago, I thought long and hard about just getting a duchess and becoming a pedal guy for heavier tones... as much as I like my Kraken, I love the cleans these get and question my choice sometimes...

I just can't rely on pedals for heavy tones. Haven't heard a single pedal out there that can replace my amp distortion for that. Certainly some interesting ones for alternative sounds but for a core modern or even 80s high gain I can't have a pedal. My next purchase is almost certainly going to be a Revv generator 120 (Yea I implied I don't have money but I took planned expenses into account) because it has one of the best cleans and some nice old school drive sounds on the first two channels and tons of knobs and switches for each channel to twiddle around with. I generally just like versatility and for half the price of the Revv this does nowhere near half as much of what I need.
