You can also get a Lynx Distributor as well which already has the fuse mod in place. There's also some LED's in the Distributor to tell you which fuse has blown should that ever happen. In both the Power In and the Distributor, the very end bolts next to the removable side panel can be used for your Cerbo GX and there is a small hole to allow the wires out for this safely and neatly. Or you use these to attach an additional Power In or Distributor. In summary both of these products are great for those of us who are off the grid.

Yes I am not interested in all the Victron addons. The one unit I have does it all and with NO noise. I just needed a nice busbar. As I always fuse my batteries this was the most cost affective way to do it. The Victron Lynx Distributor $379.20 While the the Victron lynx power in cost me $216 the extra bolts needed I already had on hand and the fuses cost a few $ more. My new Deye sends me an alert to my iPad or phone or computer or my wife's phone if it detects a problem. With Victron noisy inverter and all the gear you need to addon to have it working like a Deye you would need to spend about 20k. Victron work on the ladder profit system. Buy this part for 4k now if you want to see what is going on you need the bmv now if you want it to be solar powered you need the mppt but then if you want it to all work together you need the GX and so on and so on. my inverter $3600, I need a protected Busbar Victron make a nice one $216, So there you have a complete 8kw unit with built in MPPT controllers x 2 and shunts to measure everything built in Wi-Fi and online communication So i can see and control the unit for any location as long as I have a phone or internet signal . for under 4k That is my thinking on this.

Great unboxing video Justin and thank you Mrs. Case for the great camera work. In such a compact box and high amperage, is electrical arcing across the terminals ever an issue? Thanks Justin. Cheers.
@JustinCaseSolarPower Жыл бұрын
Not in this case. Its very well shielded. If it was an issue I would think it would have vanished off the market a long time ago. Many many in operation world wide. just search installing the ( Victron lynx system ). Hear on KZbin and be amazed at the complex off grid and boating installation's that have been videoed. The times that by thousands as only part of 1% of the manyy would have videoed there installation 👍😉

@@yhird also have a look at this link Victron Lynx Distributor. www.victronenergy.com/dc-distribution-systems/lynx-distributor#pd-nav-secondimage Basically I have done the same with the Power in, but without the fancy electronics that lets you know if a fuse is blowen. I don't need a light to tell me if the Fuse is Blowen. The Deye Inverter will send me and error msg if one of the batteries drops out for any reason.👍

Thank you. 👍 Go have a listen to the Victron's humming loudly in this video, video start when they walk into the cabin they have most of there gear in. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3e7fKmBfaqiqdE That constant background noise is coming from 2x very expensive low frequency inverters. My Deye is also a low frequency inverter and makes No noise at all.

Hi Chris Love your Work. Question: I am wanting to know if you have or can do a video on why you can/can't strip out solid core/ Multi Strand 240 Volt household electrical wire and use it for wiring up a 12 volt Solar system with half a dozen battery's and some solar panels etc. Any info I can find is very technical. Could you do a pro's and cons video on the subject please. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's pondered that question. Could you explain it in lay mans terms to please 😁
@JustinCaseSolarPower Жыл бұрын
its all got to do with the frequency of the current. DC has no Frequency so it travels through the center of the copper wire. More strands = more amps it can carry. 110 or 230VAC has a 50hz or 60hz depending on where you are from. So it likes a bigger wire. and so on. Till you get to microwaves (that is also an electrical current) that don't require a wire at all and travel through the air. That is the short but also the correct answer to your question.
@John.strong Жыл бұрын
I'm keen to see this installed as I'm thinking aout using one in my setup it's a little more than what I'd like to spend, but i have a feeling that in the long run it will be usable then again, im thinking about using it for 2 batteries, 3 charge controllers and 1 inverter ( maybe 2) that means each battery will come off each end, because they are lithium they have a bms, not sure if i need to add a fuse to them also because the bms will turn off at 200 amps anyway that means everything else can have fuses, not sure how to get a second inverter in there, not even sure if its needed yet
@JustinCaseSolarPower Жыл бұрын
We shall see. Still waiting on the solar electrician to come have a look and tell me how he will do the new layout of my panels. I may still have some low volt and some hight volt. The High volt will go on the inverter and the low volt on the Victron mppt charge controller.. Not happy with that outcome but it maybe what needs to happen.👍
@AndyM... Жыл бұрын
@@JustinCaseSolarPower That's be a shame if you had to do that, even if it takes a bit more work, it'd be good to have all the high volt solar heading to the Deye inverter !!

Please tell me what size of fuse use for this mod. I have 3 48v 280ah batteries. Thank you.
@JustinCaseSolarPower4 ай бұрын
Depends on what you're hooking up to it. If your lithium batteries allow 100amp, and you have 2 x then it's 2x 100amp, It's all up to you to work it out.
@UKsystems2 ай бұрын
Ideally, you work out the max that could ever be pulled based on the other fuses refuse a bit higher so one of them should blow first can you have three 50 amp fuses I would say 200 amp fuse probably would work

I don't think that fuse is appropriate for such a large battery bank due to the high short circuit current, use a proper HRC fuse with atleast 20KA DC breaking capacity and they are only 10 AUD or so each. Example = Siemens 3NW series fuses.
