Hello, thank you so much for this video. However, I am missing an important piece of information regarding use at low temperatures. We had cold temperatures last week and the battery stopped supplying 12V power at about +5 °C degrees. No lights or USB working in my RV. If I understand it correctly, it works as designed if charging stops below +5 °C, but consumption should still possible down to -20 °C degrees or untill "Discharge cut-off voltage“. But nothing works below +5 °C degrees and the "Temp or OVP" LED goes red below -3 °C degrees. Something wrong with my BMS settings? Please help and advice.

Hi, I want to set up smart solar 250/60 with "regular" lifepo4 battery. This battey is equipped with a BMS, and it can probably destroy an smart solar regulator What happend if BMS cut off the power and it cause lack of pawer for smart solar regulator? How should I protect smart solar regulator? Best Regards, Pawel

That is a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question :-). The hotter a panel gets the more inefficient it is.

can I ask you a question? when I turn on my 1000watt induction plate the battery voltage drops from 13.30V to 12.40 volts without any other loads on , is this normal or is it too low? thanks

How long and how thick cables? That's a pretty hefty load to pump out at 12v.

Hi. I have two Smart Lithium 200Ah connected in parallel managed by a Lynx BMS in my van. I can confirm your tests, being here in Sweden, the batteries have minus C degrees and allow discharging but not charging. As soon as I start the car and my buckboost sends charge current, the Lynx disconnects and separates the batteries from the onboard system. What is annoying me though is that the calibration of the two batteries is not equal. I have observed up to 6C difference between the two batteries and that is really frustrating that one battery alone would allow charging but the system has to wait for the other to warm up as well… why is that and is this a product issue to communicate to my supplier or you at VE?

Hey there Ingo, The board that takes the temperature is on the top of the battery area. it's the same PCB board that balances the cells. From what you have explained I'd say one battery is in a colder environment than the other. Maybe closer to a side wall or it gets less air flow from heating? Have you taken them out and stood them next to each other in a heated room for example to check?

@@VictronEnergyBV thx for reply. - when I last summer unpacked the batteries and checked Bluetooth Victron Connect for the first time they had been in my garage for several days on the same shelf -> already then showing a difference of 2C: 17 & 19 C respectively. - now, in my car (unheated on the driveway) they are located in front and behind the passenger wheel well, approx 1,2m apart from each other. I am pretty sure there is no delta in ambient temp after the car being unused for several days. Still, they show different temps; higher delta the colder the surrounding. - when used, eg after longer time charging, the temp shows equal temp, but only when reaching mid-20 to 30C Can we maybe continue this discussion in your direct support channel (or Victron community) to discuss and incl possibility of attaching pictures?
