Thank you Wim. I am working on more videos. Currently creating a mini-series about Signals. But it's taking a long time to complete!! :(

Complex operation but very clearly explained Bob. Thanks for your continuing series, really enjoying it.

I have yet to try this on my layout, though, since I have a double track all around, I might not need to change direction at any station, but will give it a try :) Thanks Bob :)

Been a while since run my layout with itrain. Your videos have been an immense help thanks you. Are there any plans to produce any more videos.
@bobfuller Жыл бұрын
LOL, yes, you've caught me whilst I'm on the PC writing the scripts for the next mini-series which is about signals. It's a very big subject so is taking a long time to create them all.

how do you do?
@roberthechinger2051 Жыл бұрын
Hello Bob Again thank you so much for taking the time to put together all these tutorials about iTrain. It makes the understanding of this software so much easier. Definitively the best tutorials on the market. I am in the process to extend my layout by adding a reverse loop for my shadow station. I struggle to find a solution on how to specify into iTrain the change of polarity within the loop. I wrote somewhere that the solution is to introduce relay... but no further information. Do you have a solution to treat this issue within iTrain ? Anxious to hear back from you. Very best regards. Rob
@bobfuller Жыл бұрын
Hi Rob If you are using an auto-reverse loop module, iTrain doesn't care, so there is nothing to set up in iTrain. The auto-reserve loop module takes care of everything (reverses the polarity when it detects the train). If you are using something else to control the loop, then you may need a relay. If you look at the iTrain demo layout, block CS_BT is using a relay to control the loop (in simulation). That will give you an idea how to set up the relay. If you are still struggling, make a post on the iTrain forum and attach your layout file. We will need to see your layout file to give you a proper answer/solution.

Hi Bob , do you have any more videos coming soon ?

Not for a while. I need a break. But lots of things I'm planning to do.

Hi Bob i almost finished your videos and i found it very constructive i how to use it. There is one thing i am finding out is that although the Hornby elink is in the interface it seems that itrain struggles to link up with the layout. can you produce a video on a number of interfaces that struggle to link up with Itrain thanks very much Keith
@bobfuller Жыл бұрын
Hi Keith. Glad to hear the tutorials have been helpful. Thanks for the suggestion. I think the forum would be a better place to ask that question so that more people can add their opinions and eventually an informed list would develop. The post could then be pinned, if it becomes popular, making it easier for new iTrain users to find. The forum has a more effective search engine for finding specific information compared to a KZbin channel. I hope to do a "quick start" video series in the future and maybe I could include one slide about the Controllers not recommened for use in Automation.

@@bobfuller thanks for responding I have read the information about the elink it looks like I will have to change the command station

Good evening Bob I am a huge fan of you work on KZbin about iTrain software. I have seen all of your videos, but I was not able to work out one issue that I am having for more then year. I am turning to you for help as a last resort that I have. I am trying to run a train route, which once it finishes, it will trigger another train route on the same train using actions. Is there any way how to do it? Thank you in advance Filip
@bobfuller Жыл бұрын
Hi Filip. Yes, this is absolutely possible. There are many different solutions depending exactly how you wish to implement it. Have you tried asking the question on the iTrain Forum in the English section? Using the forum is the best way for us to help you. We would need to see your .tcdz layout file which you can attach to your post in the forum.

Hello Bob, I have watched your videos, some of which several times, and after rereading the manual x times, I am currently stuck in automatic mode on my .tcdz file (Version 5.1.12 on Mac/Catalna). The Itrain/berros forum is not very simple. Do you know anyone who can help me find my mistake? Kind regards Jean-Jacques
@bobfuller3 ай бұрын
Hi Jean-Jacques, Your best source of help (for you and for the people helping you) is the iTrain forum. So, I recommend that we address that issue, first. What problems are you having using the forum?
@jean-jacquesdermagne63303 ай бұрын
@@bobfuller Hi again. I can only create private Message. I can not create a new subjetc (description of my problem) or i am stupid in front of the main page of this forum.
@bobfuller3 ай бұрын
@@jean-jacquesdermagne6330 that's interesting because most people find it harder to create a private message compared to posting on the main forum. To make a post on the main forum, do the following: When you open the forum, ensure you are signed in - your username should be showing next to the "Private messages" field. In the forum click on the Country region you prefer (I will describe the English section). Then select the "Support" section. Then select the appropriate category - "Automatic control" in your case. Then click on the red "New Topic" button. Enter a "Subject" title - a short description of your problem. Then write a description of your problem/question in the main window. Only write about one problem/question per post. IMPORTANT: you should always attach a copy of your .tcdz layout file. To do this, click on the "Attachments" tab below the main question field. Then click "Add files". In the window that appears, find the location of your .tcdz file. It will normally be located in C: Program Files/iTrain/layouts. Select the file and click "Open". The file name should then appear listed in the "Attachments" tab. Now press the "Preview" button below the main question window. Your post will appear in a "Preview" window to allow you to see what your post will look like. Others cannot see this, yet. When happy, press the "Submit" button and your post will then appear on the main forum.

Hello Bob, Thank you for your advice. I managed to publish my problem on the French Itrain forum. A very kind Dutch member found my mistake. I didn't use the "Magnet" function to connect certain blocks. Everything is OK. Awesome. I didn't find your name Bob Fuller on the Itrain English forum to thank you directly. Many thanks. Sincerely JJ

Still working on the signal tutorials believe it or not. It's turned out to be a bigger and more complicated subject than I expected. Nine different regional signalling systems. I'm working with a group of guys to formulate a set of simplified universal rules. Nearly there but it takes a lot of time.
