I posted a video of what I’m experiencing. I had changed my water pump and rad after it blew and all of a sudden I started having abs and brake light come on. When my headlights are on and I hit the brake, my hazards with illuminate. And sometimes when I’m just out driving, the theft light comes on and some of my gauges shut off with the battery light on as if I just put the truck to ON position. All of it will happen while driving around

Update: This problem was caused by a wiring problem. The repair was completed by my local Chevrolet dealership's service department, so I can't tell you how to make the repair, but this is what was written on my service receipt: "G104 improperly located on back of engine block. Relocated G104 to back of cylinder head and cleaned grounds. Traced wiring and found loose connection causing poor connectivity, putting strain, and causing heat build up. Corrected wiring issue and test drove. Concern resolved." I have not experienced any more problems with this vehicle since having the repair completed in March 2020. The source of this problem was very difficult for the technicians to locate. The vehicle was showing the P1518 error code, so before they found the burned out ground, the service department replaced a rear wheel speed sensor ($260.00) and the TAC module ($640.00), which may or may not have been causing the problem. If you are someone with the knowledge and equipment to check for a wiring short, I recommend you do this first. The sensor and TAC module may or may not have needed replacing. Good luck with your troubleshooting, and if you manage to fix your problem, please add information to the comments so you can help out someone else!

May I ask how much it was to repair this
@fabulousfinds77143 жыл бұрын
@@shawngregory6637 The dealership only charged me for the original repair involving replacing the TAC module ($640) and rear wheel speed sensor ($260). After having these repairs made, I got the Tahoe back from the dealership, and the same problem with the P1518 error code happened, and it lost power. When I took it back to the dealership, they did not charge me anything at all the second time and found and corrected the wiring problem. The following is printed on my receipt: "G104 improperly located on back of engine block. Relocated G104 to back of cylinder head and cleaned grounds. Traced wiring and found loose connection causing poor connectivity, putting strain, and causing heat build up. Corrected wiring issue and test drove. Concern resolved." I am guessing that just repairing the wiring problem--which I believe was the sole source of the error code and losing power--would have been a relatively inexpensive repair, like in the $200 range, at most. It seems like this is just a really hard problem for most mechanics to solve. Good luck with your vehicle!

Usually this happens because abs sensor wire needs replaced cheap fix under 50 $ it would really help also if you had a snap on scanner that way you lift the car up and rotate each tire and the scanner would tell you if your abs sensor working

My Tahoe's issue was caused by a wiring problem with the G104. This is what the service tech wrote on my ticket: "G104 improperly located on back of engine block. Relocated G104 to back of cylinder head and cleaned grounds. Traced wiring and found loose connection causing poor connectivity, putting strain, and causing heat build up. Corrected wiring issue and test drove. Concern resolved." I wish I could offer you more help. Maybe someone else who has had the same problem can give you some suggestions. Anyone who can help--Please respond to Nickolas Bennett. This is much an infuriating problem!!

Quick question dod the power door locks also engage during this issue?
@fabulousfinds77143 жыл бұрын
Yes, the doors would lock and unlock; the interior lights would come on; and the chime would ding a few times (as it does if you start driving without completely closing the rear access hatch.)

Also, if you may want to watch the first video I posted showing how the ABS and emergency brake lights would come on when I hit a bump. Here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmXMf6Ctd5ifo9U My Tahoe was experiencing all of these different types of problems before the dealer's service department finally fixed the wiring problem with the G104's being improperly located, as I described in the comments I posted some time ago.

The problem was due to a loose wiring connection explained in the "update" I posted to this video. Since the service department made the repair, I don't know how to tell you to make the repair.
