Thank you for being honest, and sharing your experience and knowledge. I'm new to competitive shooting, and building my first f-open rifle in 284 win. Haven't really decided on any specific reamer dimensions, since everything is good year out. But thank you very much for doing this.

Wow! What a great video! Your doing what Im thinking about doing, great job! I just got my reamer a few months ago and in a few days ill get my barrels back from the gunsmith. Im shooting 223, but also made a 6br reamer with a 0.069 freebore.. did I go too long on my freebore for shooting 90grn bergers? Can you tell me what freebore you have on your 6br reamer? Thankyou!

I've been using Peterson brass in my 6x47 L and it's been working great. Thanks for the video!

I'm assuming that when you say to turn your necks to one thou. clearance that you are referring to diameter being one thousandth difference rather than a thousandth on each side?

Very interesting. Only way to know what works is test.

Great info, question. Freebore clearance. I have several 6.5 reamers, all have .0005 bullet to freebore clearance. All my reamers are a variance of an already existing reamer from JGS. The Wheeler #1 6BRA shows a full thousands clearance, .2440. Trying to understand the logic for that extra clearance. What is the clearance on your BRA reamer? I don’t think it’s the 6MM bullet size. The 6 Creedmoor is .2435. Details drive me crazy if I don’t understand. Thanks for all your sharing of info. It is invaluable..

Tried Peterson in 308 years ago and found the brass too soft and switched to Lapua ending with better results and longevity. Not saying they are not good, but confirming they are softer than most.

Thank you for this video! At 2:24 you indicate that freebore is really important and that you want "the case way down in there" and you don't want it "way out" cause you start going through your barrel life. I am assuming that you meant to say that we want the "bullet" way down in the case.... or do I have this wrong? In other words, are you worried about seating a bullet into the lands will erode the throat and damage the barrel? What freebore do you use with your 6BRA? And do you jump your bullets? Thank you.

I realize I've haven't given fine details about many things, but most of these topics I could talk for 12 hours. So my thoughts are to give a over view first and in later videos explain more thoroughly. As to your question yes the bullet needs to be set so the boat tail is just to the bottom of the neck. I seat all my bullets into the lands, never jump. Not jammed. With this method and proper freebore you will have consistency through your barrel life. Free bore depends on what bullet you choose to shoot. So it's hard to answer that part.

My I suggest when you show something technical like describing depth of the bullet you zoom the camera in A newbe wouldn't know if your talking about the bottom of the bullet or the taper where it starts into the shoulder.Good video.....

Do you change your bushing each time you change the neck thickness to keep the same neck tension? How do you do that to avoid zero or minus neck tension? Thanks for the video very excited to try something new. I never thought of doing this. I’ve always just turned to get concentricity and then use the bushing to adjust for release. It’s totally obvious after you explained that this is very important.

Yes I do, I try to keep 1 or 2 thousands neck tension for each group. Thanks

So my question is when you do the 1 thou, 2 thou, 3 thou, etc. neck clearance testing, how do you know what powder charge and seating depth to test with? If you haven't found the best load, would it not give a false reading on what neck clearance is best? Thank you.

1st fireform, second powder test, 3rd shoot your groups and see what's best. I shoot at .006 in from touch on all my rifles and all my bullets. Seems crazy I know, but it works for me.
