Very informative demonstration! I appreciate you covering so many details. Rare to find videos that cover so much. Thank you!

The shrink wrap idea is smart. This will help me out a lot. I always worry when I go to flip the hemis together I'll mess them up

Good video sir. I hate watching people try to put the halves together without using and wrap or paper, like the hammer method added into it.

Nice work and good lookin stars. I rolled clorate purple for an 8 inch and man o man that was a lot of Rollin. I have found using cork like the italians for break works well and covers easier well rolling on. I'll have to try that chlorate booster on rice or cork

I have a friend that uses cork. It makes some nice burst.

For the lift cups is the size selection soley based on weight or do you match up the lift cups with the same size as the shell?
@pa-pyro28045 ай бұрын
@theitalian556 the lift cup can be any size.. I usually just use paper and on ball shells I get a little more creative and use the cups that fit the shell or use paper aswell

I like the shrink wrap. I've been using tissue paper, and at times, it sucks. Lol

Wouldn't the plastic wrap cause some type of static electricity that could ignite the burst charge? Or what are some things to watch out for? Like for example do you wear specific type of clothes that won't cause a statuc electrical discharge? Is that enough to set off the burst charge?
@Tarheel_Pyro4 ай бұрын
I’ve never worried about that. In colder weather I do use a static spray on my clothes and work surface.

@@Tarheel_Pyro do you have a video explaining the different chemicals that make different star 🌟 effects?

The very first video shows a chart with what chemicals are used for specific colors but that’s all I know of.

@@Tarheel_Pyro thanks, what's the biggest shell you ever built? And what's the biggest you have seen in the sky in person?
@Tarheel_Pyro4 ай бұрын
I’ve made numerous 12” shells. I was at the PGI in Gillette Wyoming when the shot a 36” shell.

what will happen if the burstcharge & stars are not tightly compressed inside the shell and rattling?
@atfboi4458 Жыл бұрын
The stars will shift out of place and you will get a sloppy break.

@@atfboi4458 Thanks for your answer, it will not cause a flowerpot? I Mean will it not explode in the tube because of friction?

Can you put H3, the burst charge you used with sulfur containing stars? I thought chlorates should NEVER come into contact with sulfur. I'm honestly not sure, you're a lot more of an expert than me so that is why I am asking
@homegrownpyrotechnics70-304 ай бұрын
Personally, I'd stay away from anything containing Chlorates while using other contents that contain sulfur. I guess back in the day, the sulfur that was used was a lot more acidic, which would cause it to be more sensitive in contact with chlorates. If I had to use chlorates and sulfur together, I'd try and create a barrier like a sulfur-less prime in between the components. In this case I would have at least placed the H-3 booster on top of plastic wrap to try a keep it separated from the bp.
