Thank you Pelle. It is very encouraging to hear that these tutorials are enjoyed in various countries. More will be becoming soon - I'm having some logistical and production issues at the moment which is delaying things.

Just to say, Many thanks for taking the time to put these tutorials up! I invested in itrain in January for a retirement layout project. Without these fantastic supplements to the paper manuial, I am not convinced I would have ever got to grips with the software before my number came up. Keepe em comming!👍😊

Hi Bob, Thanks for the tutorial series, I find them very useful in determining the best way of implementing this piece of software. Can you give me some idea of when the next video in the series will be released? Keep up the good work - much appreciated.

Thank you for the comments its nice to know they are useful tutorials. I dont like to make commitments on when the next tutorials will be available. Producing the tutorials takes a lot of time in research, writing the scripts, creating, filming, editing, correcting issues, and finally verifying the accuracy of the content before they are published. It is all done voluntarily in my own time and at my own expense, so they are produced as and when I have the time. What I can tell you is that the next two scripts have been written but there are two or three more scripts that I also need to complete before I commit to the filming - I need to ensure that the story line flows properly between the next few tutorials. Also, I am trying to include film of the real test track and that is taking some time to properly set up. So it is probably going to be a month or two before the next tutorial is released.

Hi Bob. Your series on iTrain has been very valuable and I have watch many of them many times to fully understand the concepts. Is it possible that you could do one or a few on setting up Signals? How to define them, where to integrate them into the blocks. The manual is not easy to understand in this area. Have been experimenting with defining ones to add but not sure why they don't seem to follow what I would expect happens. Others may also like to have this part explained. Thanks for considering this request.

Hi Rick. There will be some tutorials on signals but not till later this year.

HI Bob thank you for these videos I have slowly started set up the various steps you are showing nd have the block detection and turnouts along with some shuttles. the next step I'm wanting to do is set up automatic signalling that corresponds to the turn out position. do you have a video for this. Thanks again

Hi Grant It's on the list to do but not for a couple of months so if you need to move on, I would recommend asking questions on the iTrain forum.

Hi Wayne, I don't think there is a limit on the number of throttles. You can have up to 256 locos with all versions and unlimited locos with the Pro version. So, I assume that means you can have the same number of throttles. Click on a throttle, then press and hold the ALT key and press the arrow keys to add/remove a row or column of additional throttles. But, if you mean a new, separate window that displays only throttles using the VIEW/EXTRA/TRAIN GRID menu, that is in the PLUS and PRO versions.

Hey Bob. Thanks a lot for your videos, than helped me run my trains as I wanted them. I still have two issues for with I have not found an answer in your videos and thats is Platforms and Speed. My issue with platforms is that at routing I can set only end, start or default value for the train stop. But I can not stop like 10cm before the end of the block and I have no idea how to setup platform. Secound issue that I have is a speed. My train seem to be kind of jumpy and they slow down from top speed allmout to 0 very quikly when they get from one block to station block. Is there a way, how to tell Itrain to use the speed chart at locomotive setup? Would you be so kind and make a video for those two things?. Thank you very much.

Hi Filip We would need to see your tcdz layout file. Please post your question on the iTrain forum and attached your tcdz file. Someone will then provide help.

Hi Bob. I'm back watching your videos again and believe I will go down the ITrains/Digikeijs route. A little advice please - What is the difference between using a DR 4088LNCS and a 5088RC? If, as your offline demos show, Itrain always knows which loco is in which block then why do I need Railcom? I'm up to video 26, and learning lots, but is it possible to do a video on your hardware and how you have wired your demo layout? I'm also very interested in 3 aspect lights, how to wire and how to control in ITrain. This may be covered in the 30 videos I have yet to see but if not then a request from down under. Your videos are fantastic but would it be possible to finish each video with a demo on the real layout, just for us visual dinosaurs! Mel

Hi Mel. Are you on the iTrain forum? If, so, take a look at the post www.berros.eu/itrain/forum/viewtopic.php?p=163870&hilit=DR5088#p163870. I think it will answer a lot of your questions. The 4088LNCS does not have Railcom, hence why it is cheaper. In the post on the forum you will see that Iain uses the 5088 for his main block detection, because he want RC, and uses the 4088 for feedback in his turnouts where RC is not necessary. Having feedback in the turnouts isn't vital - but a nice to have. Send me a PM on the forum with you email address, and I will send you are wiring diagram showing how to connect it up. My username is Swanham. Yes, I have had many requests to include video of the real layout. The problem for me is that it would add a significant amount of extra time to creating the tutorials. I already put far too many hours into them. But I am thinking of ways that I might include them in the future.

Hey bob. A little question. I saw already in a few video's from you a logo/symbol on your layout, i don't recognize. Its the 2 lines in the station np1 and np2 on the right. What does it mean?
@bobfuller
@bobfuller 2 жыл бұрын
Good question and well spotted. If you right-click on any object on the switchboard it opens a menu for that object. Select 'Properties' and it opens its properties editor. The window is titled 'Decoupler Properties'. So it is a decoupler element which you use for operating an automatic decoupling device on your layout. You can create an action which makes the loco perform the decouple shuffle and operate the decoupler, all automatically. In the upcoming 5.1 release of iTrain, there is a new decoupling feature which makes this all much easier to implement.
