Nice vid and a very handsome model. I very much like the blue livery, even though other liveries are available. I'm also appreciative of the amount of work you do in promoting gauge 1. Regards from Germany!

If this hobby wasn't literally thousands of pounds in terms of expensive I would absolutely invest in it. I hardly make minimum wage, let alone being able to spend it.

Beautiful! Absolutely Beautiful! Just a question, how do they make a radio controlled live steamer? does the RC controls move the regulator and blow the whistle and stuff like that? I'm confused

I use filtered rain water" Most people in America:damnit!
@VestedUTuber2 жыл бұрын
Collecting rainwater is only an issue in the US if you're using it as your main water source, since legislation here requires a fresh water connection (either well or city water) for home conditions to be considered livable. If you're collecting rainwater for "graywater" usage (irrigation, hobby usage, etc.) then there's no issue.

I am curious if Scale G is the same as Scale 1.
@TG-cf6qb7 жыл бұрын
G Scale is a scale just gauge 1 is smaller than it
@VestedUTuber2 жыл бұрын
Same gauge, different scale. G scale is typically anywhere from 1/29th (representing standard gauge on 45mm track) to 1/20.3rd (representing 3-foot gauge on 45mm gauge track), with 1/22.5th being a popular scale within this range (representing meter-gauge on 45mm gauge track. 1 Scale is always 1/32nd, supposedly representing standard gauge on 45mm gauge track but actually being more proportionate to 5ft gauge on 45mm gauge track. G has pretty much completely taken over 45mm gauge as the main scale for that gauge, due to its heavy focus on narrow gauge and subsequently smaller footprint due to needing smaller track radii (G scale can actually fit in a smaller space than Proto48 spec O scale). 1 Scale is effectively the realm of handcrafted museum-quality brass models. There's also 16mm scale which represents 2ft gauge on 45mm gauge track, and is almost exclusively live-steam focused - the Accucraft Talyllyn is a good example of 16mm scale.

Sadly there's no beautiful black smoke from this train
@VestedUTuber2 жыл бұрын
That iconic black smoke is actually something you generally don't want to see coming from a steam loco. It means there's a lot of soot in the exhaust and as such you're burning fuel extremely inefficiently and clogging your fire tubes. What you want to see is a lot of thick white smoke on acceleration (which means it's mostly steam) and then very little smoke when cruising.

Steam locomotives by radio controlling!?Is there really?
@VestedUTuber2 жыл бұрын
Yup. Steam locomotives are controlled via valves, which can be actuated by servos. There's also RC cars and planes (and even some custom built locomotives) that are powered by tiny internal combustion engines.
