I haven't done any knitting for at least 30 years....I wanted a simple project to practice with. After looking at many videos your pleasant mannerism and sense of humor won me over.......its like having a friend helping you. Thank you so much for putting this out there...very nice dish cloths as well....it has been very relaxing taking this up again coming at a time when I really need it. Namaste

Hi Suzy, oh good. Glad you liked this. I'm planning on making another knitting video at some point. Maybe using purl and maybe using 4 needles. Probably in the fall sometime. You mentioned it came along at a good time for you. Hope all is well. Take care :-)

Hello! Just thought id pop back in. 2 years ago upon rereading Harry Potter, i decided i was going to learn how to knit. Since no one in my family has ever knit before, I turned to youtube and decided I was going to teach myself. I watched several tutorials that weren’t very clear and became very frustrated and was ready to quit. Then I found this one! It was absolutely perfect! Your instructions were so clear and detailed and thanks to you i knit my very first dishcloth. Since then ive learned dozens of other stitches, learned how to make socks, shawls sweaters and hats, but i owe all of that to you! Thanks so much for making this tutorial and introducing me to my favorite craft!

Great video. I was signed up at a local craft store for a class to learn how to knit a dishcloth. When I arrived, I found out I was the only one registered for the class and then the teacher didn't show up either...ugh! So I decided I would go home and find a video to learn to do it myself. I am so happy I found this one. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow. By the next morning, I had completed my first dishcloth. Thanks!

Love this pattern! A good pattern for road trips or between projects or between WIPS. I don't have any of these colors in my stash! Next sale I'll purchase some! I saw a tip from pink knits...when you are ready to weave in ends...split the yarn and weave in separately so when you wash there is no chance of the yarn end from coming loose! Thank you for the video! Beautiful stitches!

I have never heard of a knitted dish cloth before. Here in Finland the most usual first thing to do is a pot holder. I checked that word on Google Trastate, so it might be wrong, but I mean something like an oven mitten. Usually it's made straight back and forth, but I might try this someday.

Tanya, how could I turn that square shaped pattern into a rectangle shape using the same yarn over concept for the edge decoration? I am a new knitter! However, with your direction I purchased the materials and made this project with no problems. Apreciate your clear and understandable directions :)
@karicoffey27435 жыл бұрын
T Carr When you’re at the point that you don’t want it to continue to get wider, after the YO (yarn over) stitch, K2T (knit two together) (the stitch she shows to start the decrease area for the second half of the dishcloth). A YO is an increase in knitting, where a K2T is a decrease, so following one with another will keep the same amount of stitches on your needle, as well as keep the hole in the edge for decoration. When it’s long enough for your rectangle, continue with the pattern she shows for the second half (K, K2T, YO, K2T. Knit to end.) I know you asked 4 years ago, but hopefully someone finds this helpful!

Wondering would this pattern work on a baby blanket?
@karicoffey27435 жыл бұрын
MrsTeaTimes It absolutely would, as long as you have enough yarn, use a circular needle, and don’t mind a square baby blanket. This pattern, as is, will make a square unless it’s adjusted, which would be great for a floor blankie for playing or changing baby.

If I used the pattern but wanted 3 solid colors (colors of an Italian Flag), how would I make the 3 colors evenly? What row would I change the first color and second color onto the third color?
@RedCardinalCrafts3 жыл бұрын
I think you would just divide the amount of rows by 3. I believe I did 42 rows so divided by 3 would be 14. So do 14 rows of each colour.
