People wonder what made Band of Brothers so special. It’s this. The fact that it was made by people who genuinely love and respect the real veterans and what they did for us. Band of Brothers turned out so good because it was a labor of love. The actors/staff/producers/director/etc. genuinely look up to those men. They are their heroes. And the result was probably the greatest show ever made in the war/historical genre. They were all in it 100%. So much so that 20 years later, a bunch of them decided to make a C47 jump in tribute. And I appreciate that.

That fact made even just watching the behind the scenes amazing too, with Ron Livingston's snippets of it showing how much they cared plus the comradery. It's truly a shame we'll never see a WW2 mini series like it again

Met a lot of these guys a few years ago when the family went across with my dad the D Day veteran. It was fantastic, they all wanted there photograph with him, he was the centre of attention, got a signed poster from them. He was the guest of honour last week at the various events that were laid on in Aberdeen by the Gordon Highlanders museum where he still volunteers. He is our hero.

This is a nice gesture/salute to the real Band of Brothers & all others who served in WWII. At least nobody was shooting at them, someone I served with once said "You would be surprised what you can do when someone is shooting at you". Thanks to all now serving, those who have, and those who will in the future. FLY NAVY!!!

What a wonderful tribute - much respect to them for doing this. Think also of the almost unbelievable courage of the original paratroopers: most of them jumped when their planes were only around 600 feet and often doing 150mph. They had a few seconds before they hit the ground - not a leisurely drift down. We must never forget.

Good stuff! I just watched the series again this last week. It's great to watch for me because I get some nice memories from my service and my time in jump school (two times due to an injury first time around, lol). I did 8 years in myself, never fortunate enough to serve in an Airborne unit and luckily never had a rouond fired at me in combat... I have the utmost respect for the veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the GWOT. American service men and women past and present on average are only about 1% of the population but what a tremendously large contribution they have made. Rest easy Heroes!!

This is it? I would've thought we'd see a much longer documentary on their training then the actual jump itself, perhaps even with a GoPro attached. This is a pretty big deal to honor those soldiers they portrayed but there hasn't been much publicity about it.
