Agree to 99%, beside the embarrasing error that the closing text of the third episode incorrectly states that Blithe died in 1948 due to never fully recovering from his wound, which was totally wrong. He lived much longer and fighted also in Korea war.
@ThatWolfFromHyruleGaming

@Vega they didn't know what happened to Blithe after he got shot. Even after he really died, they didn't know until Albert's family came forward with the correct information. The remaining Easy Company vets were sad to learn that he lived beyond the war and they didn't know.

As a crew member on this show, (dummy supervisor and prosthetics) I share their fondness for the really life changing experience. I consider myself ridiculously fortunate to have worked on such a memorable and worthwhile project. subsequently, every time I work with an actor who was on the show, even if we don't remember each other we have an immediate connection and bond, THE best fun and positive experience on a film set I have still yet to beat nearly 20 years on. a real bond of brothers.

I had the pleasure and honor of taking part in the very early stages of what would become the National D-Day Museum in New Orleans, now designated as the National World War II Museum. This series did a superb job of bringing Professor Ambrose's book to reality. Thanks to all the cast and production team for all the great work.

I’m on episode 6 of Band of Brothers. It’s the fourth time I have watched it in its entirety. The first time was on TV when it came out the second when I bought the DVD box set and the third was with my now 14 yr old son when he was learning about WW2 in his final year of primary school. Me and him are now watching it again with my second son as he’s learning in school too. It’s quite a special thing watching this with them as the story the acting, basically everything about Band of Brothers was amazing and made it in my opinion the best TV series ever made. Most importantly we have to teach every generation the facts of the events between 1939 and 1945 and to respect the sacrifice all the people made during this conflict.

It’s hard to put into words the impact this TV series had on me, it was made with the same seriousness, planning and respect required for the actual true life event. It portrayed the adventure, the excitement, the sadness and the bravery that I just don’t believe I myself would be cut out for today. Those were very different times, that had such a massive effect on how the world operates today.

Normally I do not hold actors in great regard. Many have an inflated, or grossly inflated, sense of their importance. That's an understandable reaction to the universe in which they live and would take a strong personality to resist it. That said, these men, and the rest of the cast and production crew, did something bigger than themselves and honored my father's generation, a generation that sacrificed so much. I've been a soldier in another generation of war and was given a bare taste of what those sacrifices were all about. The BoB crew stepped up to do the best job they knew how, and set aside much of the Hollywood BS to do it. It wasn't perfect, of course... what is... but I saw an honest and substantial effort and for that, this old soldier salutes them on behalf of a sleeping soldier who was there.

Its hard to believe that Band of Brothers was released 18 years ago, it feels like yesterday that it first aired. Its also hard to believe that most if not all of the men of Easy Company are gone but their story was told at the right time while most were still with us and can see the story of one difficult yet important time of their lives told. Its wonderful that Nolan Hemmings is making an effort to have the guys get together and they are right they formed a bond that you just don't see from other movies or mini-series.

That feeling they are describing is a taste of the genuine bond of sharing a prolonged intense experience. Freezing together, being rained on, shared grief, shared laughter, shared loneliness, shared togetherness. Only those that have done it, truly know how deep that bond is. These men got a taste of it and STILL it is a bond they will share forever that no one else will understand.

This is without doubt the best WW2 production ever! I've watched it so many times and it still gets me at the end when the veterans talk about their experience. Richard Winters when he mentions his grandson saying "Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?" "Grandpa said no, but I served with a company of heroes" That line gets me every single time. Even writing it out now I have a tear in my eye. Thank you to the 101st Airborne and all the soldiers who served and have since passed away for your service.

My grandfather, a WW2 vet, Army Air corps, toward the end of his life just watched BOB at every chance. He was nearly bed ridden for the last two years of his life. He would watch it over and over. Even when he got to the point he could hardly see, he still wanted to watch it. I think it brought him back to his youth in a way. Even though he was not a ground soldier. I think for many people it is a glimpse into that life. That world. Especially for guts like me, mid 40s, who grew up with these guys as grandparents, and great uncles, who never talked about it. My grandpa only talked about fun things. I used to joke and say Papa went to WW2 and had a great time.

The actors who portrayed the men in E Company, 506 PIR, 101 Airborne Division, did their homework by studying these Paratroopers. The Actors, in fact, became a Band of Brothers themselves. They became the men they played. Emotionally and psychologically, they were transformed. When meeting each other for the first time, I believe, were introduced using their assigned Paratrooper’s name. Through all of the training, the actors started looking after each other. The bonding was immediate. Many in Easy Company died before the miniseries and since, spiritually, these men are still a living witness of Easy Company.

Just hearing the theme music still gives me goosebumps in 2024, there's something just very special and magical about the series, It was the greatest mini series of all time hands down and it's not even debatable

Wonderful video. Keep it up. I had the honor of working on the 50th Anniversary D-Day as a young staff officer assigned to V Corps (US). I was truly humbled then. I wondered if I would be worthy of the legacy these fine veterans when and if the time would come for combat. In the following 21 years, I have saw a lot of combat and it was the thought of those that went before me that kept my nerves steady in those times that try men's souls. So please continue, you few, you happy few, you Band of Brothers.

The boot camp comments - in the military, it may not be enjoyable at the time - but the morale boost you get in knowing what you can cope with is tremendously powerful. You realise your limits are much wider than you thought and you bond strongly, as a team. Clearly the actors found the same thing.

Wish they’d make a series on the British exploits in WW2. So many of them and the old films just do it. The British airborne and RM commandos on DDay, for example. Blowing up ships in French harbours to deny the Germans dry docks, etc.

I have the series on DVD and watch it over. And over. It is the best World War II film/series of them all. We saw real people portrayed by actors that you could see were really into their roles. I am forever impressed by these men who jumped into that night over France. I think that Damian Lewis was fantastic as were Donnie Walhberg , Michael Cudlitz , Ron Livingston and let's face it they were all great. I apologize to the actors if I misspelled names. I almost forgot Dexter Fletcher he was excellent.

@@Jon.A.Scholt Hi. I can go into far more details if you are really interested but for now I'll just say that it was a misrepresentation of the fighting at Nuenen and the British 44th Royal Tank Regiment was wrongly portrayed. They actually gave the Germans as good as they got and the Germans certainly did not go on the advance afterwards. In fact they got mauled and had to retreat from Nuenen themselves that same day. The 44th Royal Tank Regiment was a more experienced and battle hardened unit than the 101st Airborne was as the time yet they are portrayed as incompetent idiots. Very disrespectful. Cheers.
