The shear is a pretty neat piece of kit to watch at work. Certainly quicker and easier than doing it by hand with a chain saw. Your Fendt had definitely found the soft spot of all soft spots in the field to get stuck so badly in there.

Nice one poor fendt was well and truly stuck

Services already on the digger, just got someone to wire in the solenoid power feed and relay to a button, that was already on the digger joystick.

Great vid. Would you show the joystick next time you’re using it? How many services does it use to swivel, collect and cut? Cheers
@JDautopower10 ай бұрын
Thanks, yes I will show you the joystick controls next time I use it, not a problem. It uses two double acting services, one for the cutting/collecting and one for the rotator. The collector part runs in sequence, with the cutter, holding in every time you cut. The you decide it’s full or just want to release the contents, you press a button on the joystick in conjunction with pressuring the cutter cylinder up and it opens the collector. Basically there is a solenoid on the shear which diverts oil flow.

@@JDautopower is it a kit or did your digger have it on? My 4.8ton Volvo only has 1 function. I’m after a tree sheer for it. Looks hellofa tool

Did you have to do any training before you used the shear or was it a case of picking it up as you go along?
