There a few towns in NJ will get you if you go even 1 mile over the speed limit. Even if the state allows most drivers an extra 5 miles over. And 15 MPH? Drive 15 MPH in a 25 MPH get a ticket for going to slow. Looks like the town/city was running out of money and reduced the speed limit to catch drivers even going over 1 MPH. Here in NJ, most county judges will throw out a ticket that is just 1 MPH over the limit up to 5 MPH over the limit. Most lawyers would fight the ticket because it reduces the traffic to a stand still almost. And that can cause accidents.

@@marbledillon Watch the whole video carefully this is about a school zone speeding fines double in a school zone and yes you can get a fine for speeding in a school zone even if its 1 mph over school zones are that way for a reason safety I guess it won't matter to you if you hit a kid in a school zone if you don't want to pay a speeding ticket then follow the rules of the road if you can't learn to do that then you shouldn't be driving.

Arizona is more strict than California! We do good to slow to 25 around schools & there are seldom cops there. And everyone here knows they shouldn't be biking on the sidewalk but some do. I used to wonder why non-Californians watched our people behaving badly but now I get it. This is so cool watching another state with different laws & attitudes.

I'd like to there with a radar gun to see if this or other officers while setting up, radaring, and then in pursuit. To see if they went over the 15 mile per hour speed limit. That would be completely against what they are supposed to be doing. And it's my guess it happened and happens all the time. I also don't agree with what law enforcement big excuse will be. These are trained officers, trained to drive safely, bla bla, bla, BULL. 15 mph means 15 mph regardless of any excuses. I personally think such a slow speed is dangerous, especially if there's an officer watching. Reason: How safe is it when a driver is looking down and paying more attention to what their speedometer is reading then they are as to if there are children darting out or getting ready to do something unexpected. Maybe school zones should be entirely fenced except for where the crosswalks are on all sides of all streets around schools. This would force children to use the crosswalks and stay out of the streets. Then cars could drive a slower but reasonable speed. 15 mph in many vehicles is hard to maintain and for most drivers that have just gotten off much faster highways, feels like your hardly moving at all. In these situations EVERYTHING needs to be evaluated, analyzed and organized as to what will work best for all concerned. Otherwise I'm sorry, but too many police departments use these laws and violations as a money trap to raise fines collected, and it's not only about safety. Which is proven as they accelerate well over all speed limits inside and outside of these school zones. And everyone must admit. During school hours children are not only in set school zones, but can also be everywhere around and outside these specified zones as wall. For true child protection ALL SPEED ZONES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL ZONES ARE IMPORTANT AND SHOULD BE FOLLOWED BY EVERYONE. ESPECIALLY THE POLICE WHILE ON OR OFF DUTY. JUST TO GIVE A TICKET IS NOT A GOOD ENOUGH REASON FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT TO SPEED AND DRIVE RECKLESSLY.
