Such an elegant use of the double bass. Great performance

0:52 insane half note triplet ride cymbal inside a shuffle beat, that's fucking crazy. biggest fan of the dregs here. Rod was the perfect drummer to interpret Steve's tunes, a perfect musical pair

Rod was always my favourite alongside Neil Peart when I was a youngster. Loved listening to him with Steve Morse etc. in The Dregs. He had this unusual "back-to-front", left-handed sound which is remarkably difficult to imitate, even if you do play that way round, Some of the stuff he plays at the end of "I'm Freaking out" for example is the kind of playing that makes you think "How the Hell" and "What the Hell". Rod has the ability to invent things that would not even occur to or be playable by 99.9% of Percussionists and drummers.

There probably isn't a drummer alive today that couldn't learn "something" from Rod Morganstein !

Rod is a master drummer - you realize this after the first note of music - he is so fluid - no other drummer to date has come close to matching Rod with Steve Morse

Did Rod go back to Paiste Cymbals?!?!
@paistekid8 жыл бұрын
I wonder about this too after seeing the clip. He just did a clinic not too long ago and was represented by Sabian. Didn't see him listed on the Paiste official page so maybe this was just a recording with Paiste cymbals that comes with the kit?
