Wow Salma!!! Tusi great ho!!! loved your content. I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. Thx for the tips and you know, the tip you gave recently about pausing for 3 seconds between sections of speaking has been really really helped me alot - really makes cutting sections out easier.

I use Davinci Resolve 15. The price is right (free), and it's much easier than Blender, which is what I started learning editing with. Resolve has sped up my work flow sooooo much, and it has a ton of cool features (most of which I don't know how to use yet), like speed ramps and scrolling text. These may not seem cool to everyone, but I had not figured out how to do it in Blender, but can do both now with Resolve. Loving it. Great video, keep being you. Thanks.

You won’t believe it , I do all my filming, editing on my iPad and use iMovie as my editing tool as I don’t want to buy anything unless I grow . I just bought a tripod to fix my iPad on it as I do everything by myself so a tripod is really very useful for making cooking videos. Thanks for sharing all your advice and suggestions to us.

Great video Salma! Editing takes me forever! I’ll immediately start using some of these tips you provided: filming in chunks, and remembering to pause 3 seconds at the beginning & end of each clip. And - I think sometimes I’m too excessive on B-roll & text overlay. I’ve definitely got to fine tune my video processing so that I have time to actually work!
@SalmaJafri

I hear you on the B-roll Mary! Sometimes we think we are not enough but you've gotta give your content and personality a chance to shine too. When thinking about B-roll, think of it less as a must-have and more as a "what will really drive home this point?"

Very helpful! I like the idea of having parts already saved that can be added in each time. Now just to get those parts done! Copying and pasting for the text saves a lot of time as well. Great! I'm using VSDC for the moment after trying several others. I found, however, that it's easier for me to find/trim the prize pieces in my video chunks using the software from my computer and then drap and drop the parts I'll use into VSDC. I've also found ways to organize myself better while filming which helps me with the editing process. I think once we use your tips and get into our rhythm... It will get easier and easier!!! Thanks again!!! 😊

Hi Salma, I just discovered your EXCELLENT video by googling Screenflow. Your pace and clarity and general vibe is really engaging and so professional. I have had Screenflow a few months and this is perfect to help me get deeper. One request - would you consider doing a video on combining Zoom with Screenflow for teaching/webinar purposes? ie say you held a Zoom class ( which people were going to pay for to attend) and then from that class you compiled a video .... ?

Thanks Selma for this. I'm using iMovie, Quicktime, Keynote and Audacity. But am looking at Screenflow to be able to add more than just two tracks/ layers. PS Your audio is nice and loud, when many others on here are faint. Did you use that mic setup shown on your desk in this video, and what levels did you record at? Thanks!

Salma, i have lots of chunks, and mistakes ! I also now using a green screen-- I wish i could edit in less than 4 hours , with all B Roll ,mistakes,and having too much video time. i need to organize better as well !.
@SalmaJafri
@SalmaJafri 5 жыл бұрын
With green screen, our editing time is also up to 4 hours! That's why I like sprinkling in these tutorial videos which take me literally 20 minutes to record and another 20 or so to edit and it's done! They also typically turn out to be the most valuable videos on my channel, so win-win. Try mixing up some of your content Eli to do what's easy for you.

I'm using screenflow 8. I've recorded my video of myself talking (talking head) and want to use it full size in the beginning to do an introduction (and ending), but to shrink it down for part of the video, and in other portions, take off the video, but continue to use my audio. I want to use a keynote presentation behind me for parts when I'm in the corner of the screen. Do I have to split the clip when I want to be off- and how do I keep the audio going even though the video isn't on? Thanks!
@SalmaJafri
@SalmaJafri 5 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly split clip when you want to transition between yourself versus screen. Just choose the video clip to split and leave the audio file untouched. It will continue playing seamlessly.

Salma, I love the way you explain, thanks. I ‘m using Screeflow and Iwant to know if once I register my video and the slides in the same page, Can I re-edit? I cannot find how to do it. Also, I transferred a video from my camera and it fits smaller...Agggghhh I’m getting desespérate. Please if you can help me, it will be appreciate

Thank you for the kind comments Alejandra. If I understand you right, then yes you can edit your work as many times as you want inside Screenflow. Theres no restrictions at all. To correct the size of the video, scale your video up to the correct dimensions. On my screenflow the scale button is the first one on the video menu top right.

@SalmaJafri

Screenflow is for Mac - yes, but it's a paid app and doesn't come pre-installed with the software. I use it for screen recordings too (like this video) so the built-in editing is easy for me.

imovie is great for a beginner editor - and also free if you're on a mac. However, I need software to record these tutorials with (screen recording plus face recording) and for that Screenflow works amazingly well, so I use it to edit as well.

Maybe there needs to be a video on what is the difference between 1 editing software from another? as a newbie, it's a bit confusing, when you learn 1 editor, can you operate another?

Yes I think it's easier to learn another when you've mastered one video editor.
