I have another theory than them just trying to get into a birthday party. I think they could be inside a board game, which could explain all the weird villians and trails/challanges/missions. 5:35 The key even lands on a board game that they are already standing on(in earlier scenes too). Maybe you win the game by getting all the keys from the villains? which they did. btw 1:54 they were playing red light, green light.

@@Lyf4rMusic So Yeri is the doll - Seulgi and Wendy are playing along with the Yeti. When they're supposed to be frozen, Yeri uses her power to make the Yeti's fur move, and they say HEY YOU MOVED so he lost and they win. Basically. :)

The “Bear Doll” you were referring to is actually a lore thing called “Reve” it’s supposed to symbol the fandom (I think) and he takes shape of different things. In Happiness (their debut song) he is a pink teddy bear, in Reve Festival Day 1-3 he is a robot, in FMR he’s the box head they have on in their teasers, in this cb he is a teddy bear again :)

ok so if you watch red velvet reacting to their own mv, you will figure out some of the story of this mv. first, they all had powers, for example irene at the start of the mv she spelled some magic to make the guard fall asleep, oh she also use remote to stop the men when they chase rv, and then joy mentioned that her power is levitating things or smth, anyway yeah so they have some kind of power, I'm not sure about the rest tho cuz they only explained briefly. The other thing is about the whole story of this mv, so it turns out that all of the weird places their in is kind of a stage or room that leads them to the main room where the party helded. First, the blue room where they play red light green light with that white thing, actually yeri mentioned that she blow a wind to make the white thing moves so that they could win, so it's probably yeri's power (wind), and they got the key to continue to the next room. Shortly, in every room they will have to defeat the creatures (idk what to call them) to get the key so that they can get into the birthday party. Ok so they did it and finally arrive at the last room where they have to fight the boss (the gingerbread yes). So seulgi fight him, with the chain. Seulgi also mentioned that it kinda connect with her 28 reasons mv (because of the chain). Anyway, seulgi win, they all did, they finally arrive at the birthday party where they ended up being the host lol maybe. Ok that's all I can explain, hope this helps! btw sorry for my bad English ;)

This is their first in the SMCU, previously it was speculated they were the red force that EXO fights in the battle of good and evil, but before they released the MV they set up some comics called the story of reve, and as it turns out they are dolls that he plays with and created out of himself, you see the psyco hallway, sappy car wash, they are basically in a candy land esque board game. And the goal is the party! So think of them as overpowered dolls because the settings and the mvs are from reve imagination, and they are just the dolls reve play with.

I like the villain interpretation, because I remember when the SMCU was announced after aespa debuted and introduced the world of KWANGYA, fans speculated that some SM groups would be "heroes" and some would be "villains", and that Red Velvet would be "villains" 😂 This was thought up well before "Birthday" by Red Velvet dropped, so perhaps there are some parts of their discography that take on some darker undertones that give off a "villain" vibe!

The yeti scene is a game! I belive it's called something like "the doll falls"? 1 player counts while all the others try to reach them. A player looses if they get caught moving when the counting player stops singing and turns around. The yeti didn't move, the girls cheated their way to get the key by blowing.
