Retro game hauls are THE BEST!! There’s nothing like going to a retro game store and finding some fun games you grew up with to pick up, or games you always wanted to play but didn’t have the money for as a kid. Great video overall and I appreciate the Pompompurin and Gengie in the background 😌

being an adult for me is literally just being able to do the things or buy the things i always wanted to do/get as a kid. its amazing (not to my wallet though)! and thank you, those are my BOYS!

It can feel super fulfilling/rewarding/satisfying to get to do those things/obtain those things after waiting for so long :,) Plus, in regards to retro game collecting, part of the fun is “the hunt” and seeing what you can find and scratch off your list 😄

A game collection should always be about the games that appeal to you personally and things you want to play. People who get obsesssed with finding the most expensive or "valuable" games or gathering up every single game for a console even if they won't ever play them have lost sight of what the hobby is supposed to be all about, in my opinion. No need to justify what you like to anyone, Hannah.

i totally agree! i think sometimes collecting to accumulate everything is seen more as just a documentation of all the games from a specific console, rather than curating whats genuinely important. i do think there's something to say about having a collection of everything because as we dive more into streaming - we'll see less production runs of games printed. but i'm very happy with my small but personal collection nonetheless!!

@@hannahxsolo I can totally agree with that, and as far as game preservation goes, I definitely support that sort of thing. I just know that my own collection is generally more fun when it's all stuff that matters to me.

17:31 the "Petz" game series dates back to 1995 on the pc. Even then they were similar to Nintendogs, though I wouldn't be surprised if later entries in the series copied stuff from Nintendogs. Just thought I'd mention this as someone who played the Petz games as a kid and when Nintendogs released it reminded me of the old Petz games. Awesome video btw!

If you're into RPG games at all i highly recommend Dark Cloud for PS2 it's a criminally underrated game and probably my fave game that came out for that console

Over the Hedge (Ps2/GCN) was one I enjoyed growing up. If you haven't played that I'd definitely recommend giving it a try! I also loved Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom, you could get it on PS2 or remade on Nintendo Switch :) It's refreshing to see that you're passionate about physical media not just for the sake of rarity. I hope that you find more games that you're looking for in the future :D

@@hannahxsolo I'm sure it'll turn up eventually and I hope you enjoy the game when you find it :D Klonoa is another good series that's available on Ps2 and a variety of platforms. I'd also recommend OneShot for the Nintendo Switch. It got a physical release in the past year. Are there any new releases that you're looking forward to playing in the coming year?

One of my favorite memories of the DS is going to the store with my friend to get Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. It rekindled my love of the series and they're still my favorite games!

Novelizations also cme out before a movie, for instance Disneys Wish you couldve known the story a full mnth and a half basically before the film came out. As for game releases, maybe they do a Tuesday thing like how books and DVD's are often published/released on Tuesdays, and also the idea is yu see the film and want to continue that hype so the game is already out there for you to buy. Kind of the reason fanfiction thrives as a medium, yu want to keep the hype train going, that is a good way to do it.

that definitely makes sense, i never considered the day of the week it would be released too. i can definitely picture kids going to see a cartoon movie and then begging their parents to purchase the game right after (especially knowing how addicted kids can get to one specific movie).

I remember having the Dalmatian Nintendogs game. I had more than one actually but I can't remember all of them. When I stopped frequent play I would boot it up from time to time and clean them up because they were filthy. Nintendo has stayed relevant for so long creating games like this that take advantage of their unique hardware.
