(VIDEO) "I need a husband, I will sponsor the marriage" - 39 year old Nigerian lady cries out

A 39-year-old woman has taken her search for a husband to new heights because she is approaching ‘’menopause'' and all her friends are married.
In a video shared on X, the lady lamented that she has been single for a long time and does not wish to remain in that situation any longer.
She even offered to sponsor the wedding herself, urging interested men to approach her.
“I need a husband, I’m tired of singleness. I am 39-years-old. Very soon I will enter menopause. Please I need a husband in my life. No matter what you are doing, I am going to marry you,” she said in part.

It is really sad that this woman has to down such a rabbit hole. Marriage doesn't define a person, it is better to be happily single than to be in an unhappy marriage. Don't lower your standards. PS. The title of the video should be ...''sponsor the wedding' not the marriage.

When are we going to be honest and speak about the other side of this issue? Single women also yearn for companionship, aside from the way society pressures them, they personally feel that void. And this is a valid feeling! It isn’t going to be filled or replaced by confidence or self esteem! God created us to want companionship and it’s not fair to call people out for expressing this desire. I agree that there’s a need to have enough self awareness and esteem to show your want or availability in a better way than what the lady has done, but the truth must be told that loneliness is real!!! I write from experience, married now for 14yrs but I know how it felt before that happened.

Let's not blame the society here. This has to do with someone's happiness, there are many who condemn marriage and there are many who will give all just to get married. Let's not blame the society here. I myself, a young man of twenty four, feel I should get married now but when I look at my pocket, I just lie low. Because of hardship and poverty caused by our political class we're now having to see certain things which we ought to do as irrelevant and unnecessary.

The society could be exhibiting toxic positivity; what she wants is what she wants her feelings should not be invalidated. It's good to go into marriage with enough dose of confidence and self esteem , it doesn't mean marriage cannot erode these attributes. Moreover, she must be exposed and educated and I therefore believe she has exhausted her options. May God answer her prayers.

You are assuming she was pressured. Forget the issue of pressure, being single is not an easy thing a lot of people are pretentious about being single.
