This was put in every child's face in schools all across America and the parents was not even asked if they wanted their child to participate or not. They just took it up on themselves to broaden little kids on things that their parents should be in charge of. Do you even have children? Parents have rights to and this country has removed them, so praying is very necessary at this point. Do you have a problem with prayer when there's a school shooting, and the news broadcast "let's keep those families in prayer?"

I was in elementary school in the 60s. We had the pledge of alligence and a daily prayer over the speaker. I dont remember anytime of being forced to pray. I think that if he gets his way all students to do so. These folks want to push THEIR beliefs on children. When segregation of the schools became the law of the land parents who had money started their own Christian schools. Now that they want to defund the department of education things will go back to the way they were. Schools that are in large urban areas and poor areas will get the left overs. I went to a segregationed school and we got what was left, books with pages torn out and pages marked up our teachers were told what to teach us and if they didnt the small amount of monies that our schools got would be cut even further. I cant believe that this is a another battle that I thought was won. If they succeed in this then the children in school now will suffer. I think that this is what they want. Its already a two tier society now, but if they put these plans in play youll see those who benefit from quality education will be over those whose education was stunted. This has to stop. Weve got to let our voices be heard. Im from Kentucky but live in Indiana now and both school systems are dealing with this issue. This has got to stop.

I'm ok with completely voluntary prayer in schools, but requiring students to view you praying is not voluntary. A solution might be is to allow open student prayer 5 minutes before the school day officially starts. That way students would not be required to be present while prayer is occuring but may choose to attend and participate if they wish to do so.
