I searched for Bonus Poker Deluxe Strategy and this was one of only two offerings. The most obvious question never appeared in your dealt hands: What do we do with a dealt two pair when it contains at least one high pair? It seems obvious to me that you would throw away any lower pair because only 4 cards in 47 improve the dealt hand to a 9x full house, while holding only a higher pair still guarantees no loss and offers so many opportunities to improvement (3x, 9x, and 80x). This is a basic of Jacks or Better strategy, but of course the 80x is only 25x. In the BPD paytable, the expected return (EV) of a dealt two pair is about half of the of a high pair alone.

I just checked and the EV for two pair is about 8.4 credits for 9/6 BPD. The EV for the high pair is around 7.6 credits. So you should still hold any two pair hand. For 8/6 BPD the EV for two pair is 7.98 - still better. Even at 7/5, two pair is better by a few thousandths of a credit. You would have to go down to the 6/5 pay table before the EV of two pair falls below the high pair. The value of a full house matters when determining whether to hold two pair in this example. @@ClubMikeV I checked the EV on the Wizard's hand analyzer and it says 1.53 (your "7.6"?) for a high pair and 1.68 for two pair. Doesn't this mean 15 cents on a dollar-denomination max bet ($5)? I can't find Wiz's explanation anymore.... I play only 9/6 BPD, and I'm prioritizing getting quads. Got one last night: Dealt Jacks & 4's, kept the Jacks, was dealt JJ4. $400 quad win pays for 2,667 tossed lower pairs, or, seen another way, 80 future $5 deals.

Just cause you got lucky once doesn’t mean it’s the correct strategy. Needs to be around 6/5 BPD before you should throw away two pair with a high card but you shouldn’t be playing 6-5 anyway

@@mralapenosarespicy My JJ4 "lucky" isn't the point, although it obviously wouldn't have happened if I hadn't altered my play. My point is that I have more chance of getting a roll of quads in a row if I create the maximum number of quad draws that I can afford. Again, a $400 quad pays for 2,667 lower pairs sacrificed @ $0.15 each, right?

@@mralapenosarespicy What does a high card have to do with it? My aim is to promote every opportunity to get quads and start or continue a hot streak. My strategy for the session's EV was to play a 9/6 machine in the first place.

Great video! My manager plays this game ever other weekend at Harrahs and usually nets $100k over the course of a year!…mostly 4 of a kinds and the occasional Royal 👑.

Mike V I have a ??? Why do they call when you hit a 4 of a kind . Why is it called 4 5s Thur Kings ?? Does it pay more if you hit with a kicker is there a kickers if you do hit the 4 Kings ?

Four 5s thru Kings do not pay extra regardless of the kicker. In games such as DDB, premium 4 of a kinds with specific kickers (four aces, 2s, 3s, 4s) do pay extra. Hope I understood your question.

I have not done a video on traditional multi-hand video poker - that is because the strategy is the exact same as traditional single-hand video poker.
