In the movie, he had such a badass introduction and for a split second, I actually thought he was a prototype Hulkbuster. However, he proceeded to just hold the platform up during the entire battle and did not smash or beat up anything. But anyway, the toy itself is amazing. Enough said.

I mean, it's saying it's height is the user's height, but I would put it around 8 feet tall, but the Hulkbuster's around 11 or 12 (with it being at least if not a bit bigger than the Hulk. But at the same time, this is a stand-alone suit while Hulkbuster itself is an exo-suit for his standard armor too.

eviljbrian Be sure to check out Budget Stark's channel to see the Hot Toys HB armour. I think what will really make it expensive is all of those arc reactors/lights. I believe there are 15 of those guys. Hopefully it will be less than $1k!

I've had him for about 2 days now and I'm in Awe. I just study it from every angle and make minut adjustments to get that hunched, hulking, lumbering look he's designed to have. Very expensive but yes worth it. It defines the Ironmen collection in contrast and in build.

This armor is a point of one of the biggest plot holes in IM3. He was holding up the platforms they were standing on for the final battle, so when all the armors were destroyed they would have fell to their death.

The Hulkbuster in AOU is 11 feet tall. The hot toys figure is going to be 22 inches. So, is not bigger than the Hulkbuster, but is around the same size as the Hulk

Amazing figure! One of if not the best so far. Btw am I the only one who noticed that if you add new pauldrons, change the chest a little bit and modify the helmet you will have a WH40K Terminator? I imagine it was ''quite'' expensive.

Thank you Optibotimus! Great and complete review. Appreciate the information on the Hot Toys payment policy for these higher priced figures. I've got Igor and think you nailed all of the high points. Unless you've seen him in person it's difficult to get an accurate sense of his size. When attempting to pose him like the Hot Toys promo pictures I've realized they must have a more pliable figure as it's very difficult to hit them. Again, thanks for the review!

People, even here in the comments, talk about how expensive it is. And there is NO question, it's expensive. But i really feel i got my moneys worth and then some. Cool figure. My one nitpick would be the couple of spots where you can see a seam where two pieces come together. There were some around the knees and I think somewhere else too. On a piece this expensive I think they could have engineered it so that you don't have these reminders that it is a plastic model.

He probably stays inside the main torso, and the neck is just extra machinery while there is a display of what the armor is seeing. Think of Stark being fully straight on the actual torso of the armor, Igor's faceplate is a "camera", and in Stark's face is the "monitor" that shows what Igor is seeing, while also containing the holographic information around Tony's face

Also looking forward to your review on the Gcreations Dinobots/ Suraking. Because of your reviews I've decided to go Gigapower on the Masterpiece scale dinobots and thinking that the Gcreations for my Deluxe/Voyager scale. The idea of a combiner Dinobots is just too awesome and I would imaging a true threat to Prediking. P.S. I drive a lot as a stand up comedian and I play your pre-recorded live show in my car at around 2-3 in the morning when there is no one I can call or disturb my drive. It's nice to get my geek on at 3am. I like when your show runs long because I'm on the road for hours on end.

He made the Hulkbuster fly so your point is invalid that a suit as heavy as Igor can't fly. Hulkbuster is waaaaaay heavier than Igor. In reality, Iron Man shouldn't be able to fly. There are no jets small enough to fit inside of his hands and feet that have enough power to lift him and the suit and still be powerful enough to go supersonic. You would have to strap a fighter jet engine onto your back in order to do that. This is a movie so they can get away with it. In short, Igor can, in fact, fly.

A little bit off topic but I wanted to talk to you about Side Show collectibles. Since this is a large figure that is coming out I want to ask about another large figure that is coming out. ... The Optimus Prime. As soon as you first talked about it I went to the site. They have a regular version and a Starscream version which looks like Prime killed Starscream and is using his parts. I just want the regular version minus the Starscream parts. You haven't said squat about that figure in awhile. ALSO YOU MENTION THAY HE IS 1/6 scale which would make him the largest figure they have made if using a 1/6 scale human figure for a comparo. Is that still accurate? I ask all this because you mention that Side Show Collectibles have payment plans which I think is good and I want to put prime on this payment plan but I don't see pricing on the regular prime without the Starscream parts and I want clarification on the 1/6 scale. and yes I have contacted hot toys/ side show collectibles and have not gotten a response so I asking you since you put the bug in my ear. Lastly please explain the difference between Hot Toys and Side show collectibles.

First the difference between Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys is very simple. Sideshow is the official distributor of Hot Toys figures in North America and many other parts in the world. Which means, if you get Hot Toys figures from anywhere in the US for example, that store has bought them directly from Sideshow. Now, where it might get confusing is that Sideshow also makes their own figures. The best way you can tell which company produced what, is just look at the titles, specifically in my videos. If you look at this one, it says that it's Hot Toys. I've done others that are Sideshow Collectibles. But to be able to buy Hot Toys, BBTS...all those kind of stores, get them from Sideshow. Sideshow also sells them and that comes to the exclusive Optimus. You can probably buy the Optimus figure from anywhere, including Sideshow...but the exclusive through Sideshow are the extra Starscream parts as you mentioned. Their website lists him at approximately 30 centimeters tall which would make him about 12 inches tall or so. Obviously, it's not 1/6th scale cause as you mentioned, he would be much larger. That was a mistake on my part if that is what i said (i don't remember unfortunately haha). If you want the regular version, and want to do the payment plan, you might be out of luck. It's very possible that the reason you can't find that, is because it's sold out and all they have available for preorder now is the exclusive version. HOpefully that helps you out

I could deal with this being a 300-375 dollar figure, but this is way too much. Especially for what it is, it's a minor armor that in the movie had a grand total of two seconds of screen time. If it were the Hulkbuster (being that the Hulkbuster looks even bigger), I could understand a 500 dollar price, but since this is Hot Toys, I say let's expect a 750 dollar price point.

For me, this figure comes in at no better than a 1/4 scale Iron Man figure by NECA only done a tad bit better. Just cheesy squeaky plastic. Don't get me wrong, I own NECA's 1/4 scale Mark VII ( non battle damaged ) and love it, but $400+ U.S. for this thing ?? Ain't no way.

Is this thing an actual suit? meaning can Tony Stark fit inside? I don't think it's meant got be wore as a suit! because of the neck and head there is no way Tony's head would fit into the igor helmet (if it is a helmet). I'm pretty sure this suit was made just for the movie, it doesn't appear in the comics. Anyways great review Paul!
