The IDW More Than Meets The Eye series (the one this bee comes from) is great. Awesome storyline. Sort of a political story between Bee and Starscream on who should lead Cybertron.

Wasn't Goldfire called Goldbug in G1? Yeah, I will never get why transformers get so many names, Jetfire in G1 was called Skyfire for goodness sake!

I believe he was, but as we all know, Hasbro no longer owns the trademark to that name, so they probably decided to adapt Goldfire as the replacement name for the G1 incarnation of Goldbug when they used that as a DLC skin in Devastation.

I got the figure and its probably one of the best figures I have. Problem is the chips where the parts were cut off the racks are really evident and there's a lot of paint chips already with the clear plastic doors. The weapon isn't great either but apart from that he is really cool.

I don't know why, but I never liked Goldbug. I think I would enjoy the character more if he was seperate from Bumblebee. (Not a reformatted BB basically) Maybe like a super fan-boy that loved BB so much that he just gave himself that similar look and name. Idk :P Anyways nice review as always Paul!

Paul, thank you for clearing up the packaging discrepancies. I live in Canada and recently ordered the Generations Megatron from Toys R Us and I was supremely miffed and confused when it came without a comic. Especially since it shows the comic on their website. Worse still, in the big area on the package where the Megatron comic would be there's a large picture of feakin' ORION PAX instead. Although I love the Megs figure itself, half the reason why I wanted it was specifically for the comic book. I sent TRU two emails demanding an explanation, but I got no reply. At least now I know what's up thanks to this vid.

I'm hanging on for this one to come to the UK. I think the colour looks much better than the Bumblebee version and less 'cheap plastic' in appearance. He could do with silver hubs on the wheels - but I could do that myself. I haven't suffered too much with GPS - maybe the English sun doesn't perish gold plastic as much? Great review though, Subbed. :-)

From what I heard, Hasbro have little interest in the UK market, and only ever sent the first 4 Generations Deluxes, and more recently the Generations Voyagers and Jetfire. They also have stated Combiner Wars Wave 2 will not see a UK release. But you probably know this by now...
