Great review. Been looking at getting this when I can afford it. At least now I know it's a sturdy figure, never got a Masterpiece Figure due to their prices. Have to say, I've bought most of my figures based on your reviews. You are straight to the point and no bs, tell it like it is. Keep up good work

There's a whole lot of bullshit that occurs during Dinobot's transformation on the t.v. show. It's an engineering miracle that Takara was able to pull this figure off so well.

Impressive looking robot mode. Very screen accurate. Dinobot was my favorite character from Beast Wars. If I had to get any MP BW figure, it would be him.

I used to think the goofy repaints were better than the actual versions, but with Dinobot here I might be in for these real versions, one day. Would still be cool to see the mutant head though. Watch a Grimlock repaint come with the gun and ammo belt...

As one of the ones whose shoulders broke early to warn everyone else... Thanks for sharing the suggestion for oiling it. Seriously, it doesn't completely ruin the figure, but it does still suck to have happen. And with how some of them are SO out of alignment, seems an inevitability it'll happen without precaution.

First Hasbro put unnecessary ratchet joints in their deluxe-sized figures, now they don't put ratchet joints where they'd actually be useful in keeping a figure this heavy standing upright. It's a damn masterpiece figure for fuck's sake, engineer some goddamn ratchet joints in load-bearing areas.

I just hope the masterpiece Dinobot lasts longer than my Masterpiece Cheetor did. One of his forearm panels broke at the hinge that inserts into his arm. It's not completely broken off, but I've been afraid to transform the figure since and I had barely had it a week when that happened.

It's not really that the ankles are too loose, it's mostly that the figure is too heavy for the ankles to support.

A for effort I guess lol. Great looking robot mode. Painful looking dino mode, but hey, what are you gonna do when you try to be show accurate to a cartoon that had no logical transformation from mode to mode? It makes the engineering for the transformation, while impressive, overly complicated and fiddly. Those loose ankles in both modes kill me.

moshman691 for some reason in this review he missed a lot of stuff. Using wrong face as standard face, one heel flipped in and feet not fully transformed etc.

The face I used as "standard" is the one that came on him out of the box. What's the "mouth gimmick?" I know his upper teeth can come down, but as far as I know the only "gimmick" in the head is the eye swap.

Jarmo Verriet You just out lined my problem . The beast mode while "almost acceptable " to display is hardly desirable to me . The transformation is fidgety and annoying . I own many MP figures and while I have a deep affection for BW . None of there MP's I find at all desirable . To each there own .

shaundis buddyguy I'm not gonna argue with you on the looks anymore but the transformation is actually much easier when you don't follow the instructions and do all the internal chest bits BEFORE you do the back section.
