What are you talking about? The 2nd amendment doesn't give you the right to defend yourself, go read it. The 2nd amendment gives "the right of the people to keep and bear arms". Plus, both open and concealed carry are legal in MD (with a permit). And if you live in a community where crime is at a record high, maybe look into what that means and why. Is there more crime because there is an increase in the population? The more people, the more crime. And when you say "crime is at a record high" are you counting every type of crime in that statistic? Even non-violent?
