My family and I vacationed on the island in 2008. There were a handful of houses and cabins on the southern end of the island that have all been lost to the sea due to extreme and devastating beach erosion. Near the end of your video, where all of the trees are growing out of the beach and the water is where the southern tip of the island used to be, including a road. It was a wonderful place for families who just simply enjoyed the beauty of the beach and ocean. I’d be happy to share some pictures of what the island used to look like almost 15 years ago!

Good morning , Vicky here. Well, in one word.....MAGNIFICENT !!! I was totally , taken away by that video of Hunting Island State Park. Beautiful ! What a lovely relaxing , and exciting place to visit ! From the peaceful campground, with the tall, tall Palm tree's, to the white sand beaches,and the spanish moss hanging from the trees, are just so pretty to see. What a great job of showing us all around. Loved, loved, seeing the wildlife in your video too. Who would think you would see a White Tail deer in the campground, and what pretty Great Egrets in the tree's. You nailed it Lou , and so nice seeing Melody and Milo. They looked like they were having a grand time !! Cant wait to see what you will discover next. Thank you so much Vicky and Ed

Indeed - This campground would make a great destination for a quiet ocean getaway.

I like how you only elaborate on the larger sites because smaller rigs can fit any site without us saying so.

Nice video. How long is the Rv campsite to the ocean? How many minutes to the closest site to the beach.
@LivingOurDreamNow3 жыл бұрын
You can walk directly from the campground to the beach. It is a short walk over the dunes.

Brief history- Hunting Island was hit hard by two hurricanes in the last decade so all the electrical is upgraded to 50a. Many of the oceanfront sites ( tent sized) were lost. It’s a beautiful place but be prepared for mosquitoes in the warmer months. They are there all the time but only drill holes in you when it’s warm. Sometimes you need to move the deer and raccoons out of your way.
