Go into the function menu in video mode. Change from p mode to m mode and you can control your settings

For using video you have to use manual control. However if you are in manual control what's the reason to buy a 300$ adapter?

It was a ridiculous setup, but fun!

if i'm not mistaken you have to be in manual focus in order to gain the ability to manually adjust aperture and shutter speed. Give that a shot. I hope that helps.

90802photo Yeah, someone on Facebook suggested that and it works as desired for video.

Can we go faster than f3.5 in manual video mode?
@the.adonnan9 жыл бұрын
Yes - to 2.8 with or without autofocus.
@erikpopek93577 жыл бұрын
There is only one way to shoot wider than F 3.5 and still have autofocus: Disconnect your lens and look at it's mount. On the side you'll find a pin that, once moved, will open and close the aperture. What you can do is, put a small piece of tape on the pin while the lens is wide open. Once the lens is connected to the body, the interface will say that you're shooting at F3.5; But in reality your at your desired aperture! However there is still no way to adjust the shutter speed while in P-mode. However you can use software like After Effects to do frame blending and make your footage look much smoother! 😎

Did you sort it out? I tried the Minolta 85mm in video mode with the adaptor and it work perfectly. Its a different lens but I think its the same generation. I am considering getting the 135mm, for video, and have the R2

Is there no other option but to go manual to be able to control the shutter speed in video mode. Its so frustrating because most minolta lenses have clumsy focus rings.

Hi, I have a similar problem with my adapter, do not tell me you have decided your own?

yea for some reason, the a7 that i own with minolta glass just enters program mode, even when i try shooting on complete manual...The options to change mode are greyed out

It is amazing once you stop down to f8-f16 though and still get bokeh.

Have a question, I got my Minolta AF 35-70mm on the same adapter on my A7 and I get weird black corners, kinda like a vignette...how can I solve this?

Hi - how is the auto focus speed with the laea4 adapter?
@the.adonnan9 жыл бұрын
+MT Nguyen AF speed will be determined by the lens itself. This is the only a-mount lens that I own, but it works fast enough for me.

There are so many Minolta lenses of incredible optical quality and bargain prices in eBay.

Better get yourself a sony a99 oder 99ii This looks absolutely ridiculous on a mirrorless 😂😂😂 but thanks 4 the video 📹

You should video in manual mode and fix the shutter to 1/50. If you try and use auto modes it won't work very well, the light will be constantly going in up and down or the shutter speed will go too high and make the video look terrible.

As you probably already know, when you're using APS-C lenses on a FF sensor the crop factor will increase by 1.5 which means the 135mm lens is now a 202.5mm lens. You'll still get great images, but you just have to use your legs to move around. Good luck and thanks for posting. PS. I have the Sony A7R and utilise the LA-EA4 with Minolta, Tamron, and Sigma lenses. Have a look at www.ldvfotographie.com/ to view images taken with APS-C lenses with the A7R. Thanks.

How's the IQ with APS-C lenses? What do you use for super-wide?
@aliarenas68564 жыл бұрын
those Minolta lenses are Not Apsc. they are FF lenses from the film era, with the connectors and motor pin used on the Minolta maxxum autofocus cameras
