This is a great video. I was glued to the screen for 4 hours, even though I read the book and watched the show multiple times. I like how unbiased you are towards either party. I don’t agree with Alicent demanding „an eye for an eye“, but I still feel for her. Watching her breakdown and attack the Blacks after Aemond got injured always makes me cry. „Where is sacrifice, where is duty?“ Ahh, I just absolutely love this show. 💕 Can’t wait for the new season.

You mentioned that all of King Jaehaerys' sons are all dead - that is just in the HBO show. In the books, he has one surviving son (Vaegon aka "Vinegar Vaegon" who is a maester at the Citadel. He is involved in the Great Council but isn't considered a suitable candidate.

I disagree that Daemon wanted the throne for himself. He absolutely wanted to be *acknowledged and recognized by his brother, *considered *important and close to the throne, keeping his high level of prince-hood he had lived all his life. A role of power and high level of authority, yes, but in support of the king and the throne, not the throne itself.

IMO a huge part of it is the age difference of alicent and rhaenyra. In the show they aged alicent down and aged rhaenyra up. But in the books rhaenyra is only 9 when her dad remarries to alicent who is 18-19. Personally for me that changes the dynamic a lot.

well its obviously not just that. Hell, it was never about that even. It was the implication behind it and even then, that was not enough for Alicent to hate Rheanyra. Rheanyra's future actions PLUS the implications plus their environment together is what made Alicent hate her. Since its so hard for most viewers to understand this, it's safe to say the writers either did a bad job at showing Alicent's character or they purposely did not want the audience in her head which seems like a stupid decision.

GRRM himself has stated that if anything is canon, it’s the SHOW because the show is us watching the events as they “actually unfold,” so to speak. If you’ve read the book, then you should understand that it’s an ‘in-universe’ history book of sorts, written by multiple UNRELIABLE SOURCES who have reason to skew events in an effort to make themselves & their side look better. The book itself tells the reader this over and over…and yet people continue to compare the book to the show and make statements like ‘the show runners don’t understand the character…’ GRRM is one of the writers and, according to Martin himself, is VERY involved with the show.

I watched the entire 4hr long video and there was nothing that was 'Too Dark'. Title is clickbait. People are better off watching recaps for the show because that is what this was. This is my first time watching your videos and you have wasted my time. The times you talk about things happening in the books is not even 5% of the entire video. In the books we don’t really see who’s good and who’s bad, it’s more of a history of what happened. But in the show I would say they’re displaying the blacks as the more likable side. In my opinion Daemon is the most likable character in the show.

@@Toaster7 I wouldn’t say the blacks are likable but from the show’s perspective I would agree that yes Rhaenyra’s claim to the throne is 100% and that the Hightowers are absolutely in the wrong throughout. Character wise though I can’t find a likable trait amongst any of them. I get Daemon is kind of set up to be this “cool” character but he just comes off as an angsty man child. I really liked Crab Feeder as a character but they breezed by that storyline with time jumps and a lackluster ending opting to not show his death. I did kind of like Rhaenys as a character but I changed my mind after she entertained the idea of her small child marrying King Viserys. I really loved the first few seasons of GOT and I still plan on watching HotD season 2 but I might end up giving up the show. I prefer less dragons and more character development. Rhaenyra is just such a hard character to like in my opinion. I find her extremely insufferable.

@@krillin7653 I just think the show is painting the blacks as the more likable side. Rhaenyra is the main character in the show so far, and she appears to have the most likable traits such as delaying immediately going to war, trying to make amends with Alicent, and also just being a better mother overall when compared to Alicent. Although Rhaenyra is far from good, most of the bad she has done is considered normal for Targaryens, I think you just have to remember the game of thrones world is quite cruel. I think the reason Daemon is my favorite character from the show right now is because of his loyalty. He is very loyal to his family, and even though he may appear unhinged and sporadic, he will always be there for his house which I think is a great trait.

i never understood the love for the books. I have read the first 2 books, and it's borderline ridicoulous, 80% of the character is either big or large, while another 80% (often the same ones) is underaged. rob, ned, john, even one of Johns's friends, they are all described as being large in stature. The barrier's Mormont is big, Daenery's Mormont is big, Stannis, Robert, Renly, they are all big and tall. Sandor, Gregor, and their father that was cited, are all big. Osha is tall. Khal Drogo is tall Hodor and another guy that was cited are all big and tall What is the damn avarage height? 2 meters? Sometimes the characters act all retarded and lose brain cells in order to push the plot forward, betraying their personality. The violence and the sex scenes are never described, the author flees from them like a coward. In the tv series such scenes are showed, and that makes it not suitable for kids to watch it, but the books are borderline a kid's show. Death and violence have no pathos, what's appealing about violence in movies is the fact that it is revolting, scary, and morally wrong. Here violence has borderline no consequence, the first character introduced, in the second page, was already considering to kill off his superior. If violence proliferates it loses it's gravity. And in losing gracity it loses pathos. The book also has no real phylosophy, no meaning, i told one friend that there will never be a sequel because Martin wrote the books to gain success and make money, and since he got both of them, he is no longer motivated to write any more. It is a description of events, mechanical, monotonous, withouot a soul. It is exactly what i would expect an Ai to write about. there is one thing i seriously recommend it for: In its mechanicalness, as long as the translation in your language is well done, it is perfect to improve your own vocabulary and to learn how to use an advanced puntuaction. Whenever i hear "the books are better", expecally with Martin's ones, i turn off the video immediatly.

All these problems would have been easily solved if Viserys married his own Daughter Rhaenerya and produce a Male Heir. Since Aegon Targaryen married both his Sisters, there should be no problems with Fathers marrying their Daughters too. 🙂

House of the dragon failed to compete with GOT because they tried to be to pg 13 to satisfy some of the poor actresses. Plus the fact of the wokeness picking actors didn't help. It's on HBO and you're hiding nudity, which by the way is a big part of GOT, and that is what drew in fans and lack of lost fans for HOTD. People that say it doesn't need it are full of it. I mean be real you're putting incest in the show. And if there was no wokeness then why did they change a character to be black when clearly in the book they are white.

"in the end she trusts her children more than her own husband" I have kids and I'm happily married to my partner. And I still trust my kids more than them and they trust my kids more than me. We had a mutual understanding that the kids come first. That's not to say I don't trust them it's only to say the level of trust I have for my children is that much more. I know not all families are alike I was just giving a counter point to that statement 🫡
