Wow, your comments and introspect on these films are far beyond other film review channels on KZbin. I have a subscription to your channel but it still gets buried (no thanks to the KZbin algorithm) in favor of subpar film channels. O Canada! We need David Cronenberg more than ever these days. I would love to see a review of yours on Naked Lunch. Keep up the great work on your amazing channel!

Hey man, this made my day! Thanks so much for patronizing the channel and I'm glad you enjoy some of my work. Help me get the word out- because like you said I think the algorithm is stacked against me. I think I've been playing KZbin on Hard mode for a while.

Once again, this channel made me go and rewatch the movie in question. Something I new that I picked up on was super creepy. "To become the new flesh you first have to kill the old flesh." If you watched the documentary on the Heaven's Gate cult that will sound very familiar.

Gotta say, I think Film Journal has one of the best intros out there. Sometimes I think I miss the older one, but this one is pretty tight (and probably works with more genres).

I had the chance to get this movie on laser disc. I may have to go back and see if they have it after all. I've never seen it, but now I really want too. The dream like quality that feels "half remembered" is definitely present in his works. Its so strange how grotesques yet familiar it all is.
@FilmJournal4 ай бұрын
Very cool. Do you actively watch Laser Disc’s or just collect? Any advantages over modern home media?
@NetworkedOuija4 ай бұрын
@@FilmJournal I collect for sure but i also watch! Mostly I just love old media. It sounds great as well (I have it hooked up into analog audio bar/subs and such), but the quality is definitely hard to explain because the media is analog if you get a bad disc its almost unwatchable. Great disks are just as good if not better than VHS. Disc rot is the enemy!
