I have like obscene hours in The Elder Scrolls Games and the later Fallout's so starfield really was quite disappointing to me personally. The starfield enjoyers are people that just committed way too hard to the hype and can't stand to let the tsunami of disappointment wash over them I think.

@@Kruziikrel13 Eh I was pretty skeptical of the game pre-launch and definitely didn't find anything special out of it but once you progress a little through the story and get into side quest stuff it does come together. It's definitely somewhat dated and feels like Skyrim/Fallout in Space but I do think it's good if you like previous Bethesda titles and overall they did improve on their formula somewhat.

@@zee-fr5kw I'm sure it's good to most people but for those who have experienced Daggerfall, which does everything Starfield aims to do only better and is a game design philosophy never properly revisited or improved upon throughout the developer's entire catalogue, 27 years later and we still don't get anything better than that is a massive letdown. Starfield actually pulled a LOT from Daggerfall due to it's more recent popularity, but still failed to implement these ideas adequately and instead create a game that they've already made 4 times since 2008. They're not doing any proper learning.

The problem is that the company who did it is iron galaxy, the same who did fallout 76 and Tlou 1 which is really bad on pc. The game will be like that for a while.

I think that skill challenge isn't bugged, it actually requires you to fill up your oxygen bar with CO2 in addition to depleting your oxygen. I'm not sure why but that worked for me!

And if you want to bring up Zelda as an example those are my favorite games but until botw they’ve had no more variety than Bethesda, even less in a lot of ways actually. Had the same bug, I cleared a room and after I was done, there was this audio log I had to interact with. This started a conversation with Sarah, however I missed one enemy because it ran away, but it came back an started shooting. Sarah engaged in the fight locking me into the follow cam without dialog that I could not quit. Had to reload a part of this mission and lost cool gear that 2 enemies dropped with that. Starfield is mid. 5/10 is reasonable

For anyone wondering, the fitness perk was never bugged. You have to fully deplete O2 and keep running until you fill up CO2 and take damage. Most people seem to make this mistake

The fact that both gamer's and company's response to actual incredible games is "it's just not possible" shows how wrong the mindset of a lot of AAA game studios is. There are people out here saying that tears of the kingdom and baulder's gate 3 is "an unfair comparison" and to "not expect that kind of quality." Most people are just idiots anymore, they admit the franchise is a stain on mankind's existence but buy the next one with a smile, childish wonder of something new and hopes that it will be better than the previous year despite the fact it has been on a decline for years now, at worst being two times worse than the last or at best being equally as bad as the last. The players are just as at fault for games nowadays not getting any better as the higher ups in companies like EA and Activision are. The higher ups demand new games be made every year or every other year so they get their money despite the fact that the games being made garbage quality due to time constraints and players are fools for continually buying the mass produced garbage because they're validating the mindset those higher ups have that people will just buy trash if you use a familiar franchise name.

@@totalgarbage2053 not saying the game is perfect but its not a space sim at all and they didnt advertise it as one, also NMS for years was just a bad minecraft gameplay loop but with spaceships. being able to fly around anywhere on planets got pretty boring once you realized anywhere you landed on a planet was basically the same as anywhere else. you can appreciate both for doing different things. if you want a space sim that does that kind of stuff maybe wait another 10 years for star citizen.

I'd say that's my main complaint, some perks just end up being tedious to unlock. This one is the worst, but another that was annoying was scanning X number of planets. Then there's stuff like knock enemies down 20x with the boostpack. I really feel like no one play tested how the perk unlock requirements feel during regular gameplay.
