Assassins Creed unity is more a technical achievement than this game. Unity was in fact Peak Ac and still got the best parkour system (which is a lackluster now) the only problem was the game needed definitely 1 year development time that's why the release was so bad. (now it's fully playable cutscene animations even look way better than most of the other ac games after origins) and ubisoft is milking 1 thing so dry until you get burned out example origins was good now we have 4 games that look identical. They don't work on the engine on ragdoll system or water physics or something it's just copy and paste bs lazy as ubisoft they can go and let ac finally die or do something great with it because mirage is not Great its below mid. Yeah - they haven't been releasing much that's original or ground-breaking or anything lately, but that's a symptom of the fact that huge successful companies mainly really focus on minimizing risk - I.E. not fucking up the shit's that's working. If they genuinely cut like 95% of their work-force I think that's probably the best chance that we have of seeing Ubisoft doing really anything original or ground-breaking again. @@nananina982 I know, I know, that is true indeed. My point is, the engine they use for AC is most probably continuously adapted to their latest game. Going back "to their roots" would mean replacing lots of things they developed recently. Chances are, the way things were previously implemented is simply not compatible anymore with the current codebase and would require a lot of re-writing of current engine base or adapting of old code to new engine.

Idk bro I played Black Flag, Odyssey and ACII recently and I think AC fans are just nostalgia blinded. All three are similar in quality. Gameplay was a bit more fun in Black Flag but apart from that, old AC is not what it's cracked up to be. A 12 year old finds assassins much cooler than a 22 year old.

@@trippinhard250I agree maybe back in 2007-2012 it was fine. For 2023 though the old AC games aren’t really that good. I still consider AC Brotherhood my favorite AC game. Yeah I think that era of gaming had a lot of experimental tech involving making movement fluid. GTA IV euphoria is the biggest example as well as Assassin’s Creed.
