I'm a Paramedic and a gamer. Was able to find the full sit down machine local-ish to me a few years ago and bought it. Happy to see you give it some attention.

Good video about a great game. Without typing a complete review about, as much as I love this game, I'd like to add a few details which I think it deserves. As you mention it's not a racing game, it is a kind of an occupation themed skill-challenge much like certain other games from SEGA this era. Simply testing the game regardles of how well the emulation runs visually, with a keyboard or a gamepad, doesn't really give it much credit. You need precision control via a steeringhweel of analog sort, gas and brake pedals, and preferably also a gear shifter. The software allows for a choice of either a 4-position shifter, or up/dn shifter types. The objective is to reach the ER as fast as you are able, yet driving carefully enough not to cause any damage to the patient, nor the vehicle. You have the patient on your monitor up right, as well as heart rate, remaining "health", and always listen to the medic voice. She will tell you when you're being careless ;) The "Bonuses" in the game are infact ratings of your driving, mostly, and awarded after each "Case". So you need to be very precise to score any or all. That bridge can be cleared without loosing any points, just need to slow down and keep the vehicle straight to get a stable landing. Don't know if I have some old clips of me driving .. I was very good. I'll check it.

For me, this game is another proof of Moder 3's superiority over the Naomi. Case in point: Crazy Taxi. Both games are similar in that they use an open world town to traverse. But here, the town not only looks bigger/better with more things going on, there's also nearly infinite draw distance. Crazy Taxi on Naomi though, you only see a tiny part of the town as it slowly pops up in a short distance around you. Same with the LA Harley Davidson Model 3 game. Yet another open world town filled with huge structures and zero pop-up. No such thing in Naomi though.

Not. one. single photo. Of. The. Arcade. Cabinet. You didn't talk about the development of the game, any of actual Sega staff who were involved in the game's development, or it's reception in arcades. Complete rush job. I think I kinda agree. Video Game Esoterica made a few good videos. But I think he rushing them out now maybe he thinks it gives him more subscribers by rushing maybe? I mean how can you talk about the arcade game without even mentioning the arcade cabinet? One picture would have been cool. Sega makes unique arcade cabinets but he dont even bother showing the arcade cabinet. Even other people in comments mention it.
