Honestly, Rosie is right about FF9. It's so underrated because of the strange ending bits, but overall it's fantastic. Lots of character growth, engaging story, a thoroughly whimsical vibe, tons of minigames you can do, gorgeous soundtrack. FFX will probably always be my favorite because it just has the best overall package for me (especially story and pacing), but 9 is definitely worth a playthrough if you haven't tried it yet. The game i'm currently playing is me 100%-ing FF13 again after years away, but what i'm excited to finally play is OCTOPATH TRAVELER OH MY GOODNESS. I bought that the instant it went on sale on steam and i'm really looking forward to it.

RDR2 and Sekiro. I played them both last summer and it was perfect. RDR2 because it's a really slow game that serves summertime melancholy and that you can play on those oppressively hot days, when you don't wanna do anything else. And there's still light outside, even if you've played for hours. Sekiro, because if you rage and pause the game, you can go outside and enjoy the sun to calm down.

Summer was always the best time for me when I was in my teen years for gaming. I would always find some sort of long play JRPG to borrow from a friend and get engrossed in that for the better part of the season. That progressed into the sort of open world games that Rockstar puts out now (including all of their steps in between). Whenever I upgrade to the newest generation of systems, I get whichever Rockstar game is most recent because I know I'm in for a nice, long experience that usually reminds me of Summer. Vice City, San Andreas, GTAV, even Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 are all GREAT Summer games.

@@mrmagoo-i2l Mods are great but you havent experienced Skyrim until you manually draw the bow using your motion controls, dual cast spells from each hand, swing a sword with one hand as you block attacks with the other, until you've looked up and seen an actual 60 foot long dragon flying overhead or opened a 50 foot dungeon entrance, Skyrim just isnt the same. I love what mods have brought us, new stories, new worlds, the replay value never goes away thanks to mod. But seeing the scope, the size of the world, not looking flat but living in the scale of the world, indescribable... I wanted a different AAA VR title for PS4. After all the gameplay, the mods, certainly VR wouldn't do it for me. But then I was dropped INSIDE the world. Get kicked by a Giant and watch yourself as the Giant and ground get smaller and smaller until you fade out of existence. My hands were living weapons that rained down arrows and spells alike! No more using a controller to attack, I had to swing each blow I used against the enemy. This was the first time I had felt this much wonder and awe since the first time I played it when it was first released. Mods can and have done a lot but nothing has ever made Skyrim come to life like Skyrim VR. If only Borderlands VR was co-op

I would pick Vagrant story. I'm not an outdoor kind of guy and this game is perfect for people like me because you would be concentrating on levelling up you equipments stats, looting around dungeons, creating a good combination of equipment, and best of all, it isnt the type of game that makes you overheat with games that require fast reactions like action games and sports games which is perfect for summer. Highly addictive, hardcore RPG, challenging battles, complex weapon mechanics, and best of all, a greats story(Too bad it is too short IMO).

For me, when I think of games for the summer, I get in the mood for Bioshock because of the underwater aspect (and because they're good games)

I'm playing both MGSV and Secret of Mana remake right now. SoM was one of my favorite games as a kid, I've played the original through at least 5 times, and overall I'm enjoying the remake. The game has retained its charming simplicity, and much to my surprise the voice overs aren't a total disaster and are fitting for the presentation of the game. I'm glad I got it during the Days of Play sale. And MGSV is just flipping brilliant. See previous comments. There's plenty to keep me out of the brutal southeast Texas heat.

Although I do think the remastered soundtrack is hit or miss. The OST is very memorable to me, and many of the reinterpreted tracks seem like they miss the mark. I always had in my head what I thought an orchestral version of these tracks would sound like. Some of them are well done, others are way out in left field.

Shatter and Resogun. You can either play the games, or dance in the garden to the awesome soundtracks.

So glad that Div 2 is getting some attention. One of my absolute favourite games, the first one is just as good if not better. The co-op is gaming at its purest.
