I'm so glad you said "in any boot, if you lift the heel, you will" because I always wondered if my heel was supposed to stay perfectly flat at all times against the bottom of the boot. Now I am reassured that while carving and such, your heel may lift off the bottom of the boot and that is normal.

With 30 years of riding, I have to disagree. Heel hold is critical for precision riding, period, as well as avoiding heel blisters on long days. If the boots you are trying on don't hold your heel down when you stand on your toes, they either aren't tight enough or they don't provide adequate tightness over the top of your ankle. Better boots have specific straps and or harnesses over the ankle to hold your heel down. It is the most important aspect of boots, assuming they aren't an inch too short. Good heel hold tech has been around for 25 years on top of the line boots and by now it has drifted down to less expensive (intermediate) models in most brands. Otherwise this is an excellent video.

I snowboarded for a while but only with rented boards so I only was usted to the boa boot system and Now I got a used board from a friend and I didn´t know how to put on the boots with the quick pull system right so you kinda saved me :D

Great vid. You would think it’s obvious but found this quite hard when I received the boa boots and it came with no instructions.

mine is a combo of the traditional lase and the quick pull lace, my inside tongue is a quick pull and the outside is a traditional lace system

They should retire the traditional lacing system; it is just so inefficient compared to the boa system. I had a pair of boa boots for a couple of years, and when I switched back to the regular system it was really frustrating.

I'm not sure about that, I've been on the boa system and I consider it a mistake, I like the traditional way a lot better. there's different lace arrangements you can do that will give you way more control on how the boot adjust. On the negative side, it does takes longer to put on and take off boots on it than both, boa or quick pull

Everybody should try a good pair of double Boas. Single Boas can be okay, but are often not as good due to the zones you can adjust. Burton Photons or Concords are both good Boa boots

Most pro rider prefer in this order: traditional, fast track, boa. Reasons voice down to control, durability & replacement.

I prefer Traditional lacing system. All you need is spare shoe laces. Seen boa and fast lacing system breaks on the ski field which make owners get really frustrated. They have to go back to the shop and either buy or borrow shitty ones. It sucks to tighten up when it's too cold I know but I think it's best for my style.

A snowboard product video with a presenter who is articulate and polished and actually seems professional? The House should take notes...even though this video didn't have very much content-wise.

Iunno, kind of a pointless video IMO. The most important thing about snowboard boots is trying as many pairs as you can that fit your feet and are comfortable. Something that fits someone else's foot might feel horrible on yours which was my exact experience. I had to try on at least 8 different boots in varying sizes before finding the one that fit perfect for me. So getting out into the store and trying them on is the best way to buy boots.
