I had this on VHS years ago, and still have it somewhere. This episode is hilarious, and Katie always made me laugh. She made the show so entertaining with her sharp Scottish tongue and wit. Reminds me of my mum, who's also Scottish..there's no messin' with them !🤣😃

Glad you enjoyed it! By the way, if you still have your childhood VHS tapes, I _strongly_ encourage you to get them digitised (and preferably uploaded to KZbin). :-)

Same! I have most of Series 8 including at least one of the missing episodes - when I am able to access it, I’ll upload it. Unfortunately I don’t know when this will be / if I can find the tape again, as it’s not at where I’m currently living. :(

Does anyone happen to know which series contained a little piece, just a second's worth, of extra music as the Carlton logo appeared at the end of the credits? I can hear it vividly in my mind, yet have never discovered a single episode online which contains it. Weird thing is though, I've seen episodes on here from nearly all seasons and it's making it seem like I imagined it. I really didn't, the history books are conspiring against me!

Hmm, good question. I'll see if anything turns up!

I'd completely forgotten about that until you mentioned it - I was sure I remembered it too, but after a while thought I must have imagined it. I've just doublechecked all the eps I've saved from various channels on KZbin over the years, and actually found it on a Series 6 ep from 1994 (Trust Me, I'm a Doctor). Unfortunately I can't seem to find the original video on here now!

I believe most, if not all of the Series 6 episodes had that extra bit of music. :)

+VideotapeFTW can't help but notice how "abrasive" Angelo is in these few episodes? think he started off quite innocent and them by the late 90s he became too wacky and camp
@VideotapeFTW8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I know what you mean. In the early years there was more of a softer side to the whole show, but by this stage Angelo was pretty full-on and hyperactive. He needs to be taken in small doses in later series. ;-)

+VideotapeFTW oh definitely, to be honest I think I might have stopped watching by then, too full on for me. Also it's funny to see all the inuendos put in that we wouldn't have got as a kid!

They really did pitch these shows so well, with jokes for all ages, but never overly crude. I don't know whether it's the nostalgia factor, but I reckon a lot of these episodes still stand up well today, and it's only really the lack of phones and computers that ages the series. They're still repeating My Parents Are Aliens, which started in 1999, so why not Mike and Angelo?

Funny. This wold have been right after Jasper Britton played Shakespeare's Richard III.

Well, if you want an actor to play Shakespeare, obviously you go and get a Shakespearean actor! ;-)

He also played an actor performing in Shakespeare's company in Shakespeare Anonymous. :)
