Been looking around for diff exhaust setups for my 2006 IS 350. Ended up purchasing the Megan catback+midpipes. Found the system for a absolute steal. Just a side note, ones built in the US/Canada arent "JDM". RHD imported from Japan, like mine is, are JDM

that's awesome and im glad you're running that setup, yeah MR is the best sounding for this platform without it sounding too high pitched; that's why i went with that brand. I can see where you're going with that, and it makes complete sense, but that might actually confuse a lot of people.

+Andrew Ngo np! rev matching actually places more stress on the engine overtime XD but at least passengers don't feel the hesitation when you do it perfectly haha. my close friend currently has this exhaust (i sold it to him) and now he's the one getting compliments haha ^_^ I'm running a different setup on my 2015 now.

@@senorbonbon well it depends on what you want, really. if you're aiming for volume, it might just be loud enough, depending on how big in diameter in piping the catback is. if you're aiming for note, probably not the best if you're looking for a low growl; invidia tends to give jdm engines a higher note. i think MR is the only brand with the lowest note if not revving above 4k. I have a remark now on my wrx but i tried remark for the IS and it was *almost* there, just not as good as MR.

no worries haha being fully transparent, the 250 is a slow ass car, loses to most production cars in the straights [in its tier] but can carve corners. But parent bought it for me so I can't complain, really. shoot me a video of it after the install, I'd love to hear how it sounds.

I just bought the Megan Axle-back and was a little disappointed with the way it sound., now Im gonna buy the Invidia midpipe, urs sounds sooo nice! Exactly what I was aiming for! Great Vid

@@MrSpoonR1 Damn the Mazda Speed 3s are good too! I know someone who has one and built it for track, it's one hell of a car. Umm since my parents got it for me, I didn't have much of a choice; was either this or keep my mustang but the mustang had too many problems and I'm not mechanically inclined. But the Gen and g37 are great cars, really just comes down to... what *you* want out of a car and make the best of it because you're paying for them, they're not paying for you. The 250 is definitely the most economic one because it's one whole liter smaller than the gen and the g37 but the two other cars both come in manual so... all three have it's pros and cons.

@@videowatcher93 Yes the Mazda Speed3 is very fast its true! But its not a very sexy car for me... and now I prefer chic cars than fast! ;) I wanted en Gen 3.8 but I see in the US forums that the automatic transmissions have a lot of problems! :( (do you heard this?) And in France they are only in automatic trans! I love reliable cars! Im not rich, and I can't spend a lot of money every month for problems on it... The G37S Coupe is maybe the better for me, not reasonable, but chic, fast and reliable... but they are so rare in France! :( And now you must pay an ecological tax about 200€ (250$) every year for the G37! :/ Not for the Gen or the IS250... The IS250 is probably the most reasonable choice ! (chic, so reliable, économique, and with a good sound with exhaust!) and they are a lot of IS250 in France! Ill think about all this during the time to sell my MS3... ;)

Ano Nyme Oh shit you’re in France? France is a sweet place! Was in Paris for like two weeks a few years ago, it was beautiful! Went to the Louvre, Versaille, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, etc. everything was so beautiful haha. No I haven’t heard of those problems before but truthfully I never would because both come in manual so if I were to get either vehicles, I wouldn’t have auto problems. Ecological tax is kind of dumb, but I don’t know if that’s like the US here where we have to pay super high taxes [well at least the West Coast] for gas. If the 250 works out for you, then get the 250! If you have any questions about it in terms of how it performs and how it feels, let me know! I’ll be happy to help!

hahaha it's one of my highly commented video LOL. No, no codes thrown. Super smooth install and flawless. I sold this setup to my buddy on his first gen 250 after trading mine in and he got no codes either.

@@p4v3y68 i don't know. I live in Cali, the worst state to modify a car so i don't know any other state. If you don't live in California, you'll have to look into it. Just make sure to keep your stock exhaust if you do get it.

thanks haha it took a lot of trial and error as well as research to get this sound. No one else had this setup so it was either another hit or miss for me; which in this case, it was definitely a hit haha. It won't sound the same on the 350 because the engine is larger, it might actually sound more aggressive than this setup being on the 250.

mike yes it is very loud in person LOL. I'm used to the loudness of the 5.0 mustangs fitted with a x pipe on their exhaust systems so my setup in this video was perfect to me personally. However, I cannot guarantee that you will have the same sound on your 350, it may sound worse/better due to the addition of a liter in engine size.

mike I remember when I had a loud exhaust on my 350. It sounded pretty good and it was heaven going through tunnels, but the drone got annoying. I ditched that exhaust and got a tanabe for about $600.

xXxDanny Vlogs xXx I’ve since gotten a a 2015 IS350 with a magnaflow exhaust. The tanabe was pretty good. Minimal drone and you can definitely hear it with the windows rolled down. My mechanic test drove it down the block and it sounded nice. I had no issues with the exhaust in the 2 years I’ve owned it.

i don't know the exact part number but it would be the one for the second generation IS250s or third generation IS. It's been four years since I did this exhaust setup and I no longer have the vehicle, but I'm pretty sure you can find it on amazon or something if you google search it.

How much was did u spent on the whole set up? I was gonna go cheap with mine with that Megan racing axle back and then just deleting the muffler and straight piping it but it would sound too ricey but yours has a deep tone to it, soooo how much??

maybe 700? i also had an invidia midpipe too, that's probably what made the difference.

Oh and when you're shifting in sport mode, do you let go of the gas when you shift then push down on it again or do you just keep your foot on the gas?

I do not let go of the gas pedal, no. I have let off the gas pedal a few times just to experiment and to me personally, it feels like in doing so, it just feels very rough.

I just checked myself, you can't find it because they discontinued the product. It's been five years since I made this video so I'm not surprised they have a new replacement, but I think this is what you're looking for: meganracing.com/exhaust/exhaust-systems/axle-back/axle-back-for-lexus-is250-350-exhaust-06-13-drift-spec. you have to blip the throttle right in between when the ecu shifts gears. at first the timing is hard to get but when you find the right timing, it shifts a lot smoother. I find manually rev matching to be a lot smoother for other passengers in the car rather than not rev matching at all and then allowing the ecu to downshift

I believe I have a video teaching you guys how to rev match on my channel. You pretty much just blip the throttle in between shifts but you have to time it right. it will take some time but you'll get it eventually.

lol nope, I've extensively compared tanabe with megan racing and greddy. Megan Racing has the lowest tone by far. Even if you were to add headers and/or do muffler deletes, Megan Racing will always have the lowest tone. I dont know why, probably just because of how their exhaust is made, but I love it and will always stay with MR unless I get another car in the vehicle that's not a Lexus IS haha.
