PLEASE, just do your own thing and don't look back. The news groomers in the screen room will eventually train you to use code words. This stuff is true people go by perception and most people tend to be followers....so if it "looks" like its a big channel with lots of views whether its good or not people will most likely click on it. It makes it harder for smaller channels that are actually good. Even some ig accounts do this, rent a lambo and take pics to "appear" like they are wealthy to get more likes and build a following smh.

Here's are some tips that relate to this video and by importance: 1) THUMBNAIL: What kind of channel are you and who are you making videos for. You don't need a fancy thumbnail if you're not going to edit heavy and it's more of a relaxed kind of video. Example Moist Critikal and news channels still get views. 2) TITLE: Try to make the best title and it's really a make or break situation regardless of your content. If you're a small channel and you're making a big/edited video make sure you think of the best everything from the title, description to tags. 3) BRANDING: Make sure to set up your channel settings and other stuff like banner and profile picture. Try to make it as professional as possible and high quality so viewers want to subscribe or watch more videos. If you set a video to play on your channel page it instantly shows them what kind of content you make without them having to look for it. Also, don't make a channel trailer since they are outdated. Just put your latest video or one you want to get more traffic. Finally put your most popular videos tab on your channel page so viewers can see that you can get a lot of views and you're just trying to get into the algorithm. I would also like to comment on somethings from this video that I've noticed from a personal standpoint to a viewer. Social proof is a problem because we are not looking for "new" creators. We are looking for video or content from someone who already has a trusted audience. So, with that being said if you video does not take off after the first day and the seo is complete then you messed up on your title/thumbnail and unless the algorithm picks it up again you can still change them and pray it starts getting views again. So post when your audience is online and watch your own video/like/comment so it knows that someone watched it right away and engaged with it. Love the channel and always watch for new youtube news I should be aware of. Can't wait to get the a/b thumbnail feature so I can test them and get more views/subs!!!

The hidden views might be a good experiment for KZbin to really see how/what small, underrated or undiscovered channels' quality of making videos actually are. Since views relate to the clickability of the video, if everything is just thumbnails and titles, imagine how much more smaller channels gain views and bigger channels having lower views than they are always having. Seems like a good indicator if a video is really good or bad, not based on the views rather than hiding the like and dislike video which was a good indicator if a video is also good or bad.

Thanks for the informative video - FYI the irony for me was in the Audience Segmentation part, your first callout was Visuals. An easy hack for a good tittle and thumbnail is this. Think of the tittle as the reason why a viewer might be interested in the video and the thumbnail as something that serves to make them curious. I think of the thumbnail as something that serves to make the viewer raise questions, naturally, human beings are creatures of curiosity hence the viewer clicking the video to satisfy their curiosity. Even though the title is important, the thumbnail is what will set you apart from someone doing the same video as you.

Social proof is real! When I see a good thumbnail and title, I unconsciously look at the upload date then the numbers of views. It make me wonder what YT's intent was, originally, to publicly tag that metric to each video. When I see a good thumbnail and title, I unconsciously look at the upload date then the numbers of views. I usually still watch but I assume most people will skip over it for a video with a higher view count.

The biggest problem with yt is most people do clickbait to get views. This makes the algorithm hackable on a simple scale. Billions of videos use clickbait. So it isn't about the views, it's about the title. Only after we click do we learn the video is garbage. Views means nothing to me, if after the first 5 seconds I tell "don't show this creator again" option. My time is precious, you better damn well give your best offerings or I will make sure your content comes nowhere near me.

I've improved a lot in my editing over the years and now include a lot of animated slides as I discuss certain jewelry making topics rather than just have the audience always watching my "talking hands" on the screen. I don't think that matters, however, as viewer retention seems to drop to 35-50% pretty rapidly for each video. I'm so exhausted by data and want to enjoy sharing my skill and beading product knowledge...but trying to crack the code is important for growth. So...I'll need to re-watch and strategize. Thanks for the tips!

What I really want to know is if these big channels that blew up advertised their videos outside of KZbin because sometimes “blowing up” seems so arbitrary. A channel that started three months ago has 4 videos and 3,500 subscribers and all of the videos have over 30k views. Seems fishy like KZbin puts these channels in your path to keep you going but it’s all a trick to force your brain into hoping that you too can one day be a big creator on their platform.
@Andyelmz6 ай бұрын
That sounds like excuses to me, if the audience wants to really see your videos KZbin is going to promote them. Get better, identify what aspects you can improve and keep working.
@thingsthatmakeyousayhmm6 ай бұрын
@@Andyelmz I don't think it is. If you look at your own analytics and have watched previous videos on this channel you'll see where you cracked the formula and earned 100 thousand plus views. You double down like these gurus advise but the result is different on following videos. So you look at your impressions and what do you find? KZbin showed your videos to 80% less people. So my point is maybe views out of the gate due to external traffic sources make a difference. That's an extremely valid point.
@Andyelmz6 ай бұрын
@@thingsthatmakeyousayhmm at the end of the day it’s all about audience retention and clicks. Make sure you have great numbers in both and then you can start to blame “ something else “. But if you keep thinking it’s someone else foul then you never going to work on fixing it. My own experience, I monetized my first channel after only 5 videos, and whenever I dont get views, I blame myself and come back with a new strategy. My humble opinion. Good luck !
@thingsthatmakeyousayhmm6 ай бұрын
Interesting stuff. Care to send me the link to your monetized channel? I have proof that what you're saying isn't the standard across the board. My retention on all my videos is in the 60 to 70 percent range and I average 1000 views per video. So what is your explanation now? Even the people that create the algorithm can't control it. Yes there are things you can do to improve your views but VidIQ themselves has said sometimes the algorithm just doesn't recommend your videos. I'm talking strictly views as a result of doing the "right" things not from your current subscribers or external forums where you post and people decide to support. I mean raw, organic growth. New viewers that see and watch.@@Andyelmz

I for-sure consider how many views a video gets before I click. Low views (and I don’t recognize them) I won’t click. High view count and I don’t recognize them, I’ll give them a shot. There’s so many videos uploaded everyday (and many are subpar) that you assume it helps you filter out those bad ones. Being a small KZbinr, I recognize the conundrum.
