There's a lot of anxiety as a new creator and it's beyond deflating to watch videos all saying, "it just takes time", "make good content", etc. But the way you guys presented the information in this video has put my mind at ease. I know my content isn't perfect and it will evolve as I continue, but I'm less stressed about whether or not my channel will ever be successful after watching this video. I almost skipped it just because of the length of it, but I'm glad I didn't . I watched until the end and it was very worth it. Thanks Guys

It took me just under 2 years to become monetized. Super long by some people standards but I’ve learned SO MUCH over those two years and I truly started taking KZbin seriously a year ago. When I stopped feeling like KZbin didn’t want me to get monetized and I kept on posting (some content wasn’t very good or useful) I started to see growth. Definitely an interesting journey and I’m onto the next goal of 2,000 subscribers and more edited videos and thumbnails to see how that does

This video really opened my eyes to how the KZbin algorithm works! I had no idea there were so many different algorithms interacting with each other. It’s wild to think that just one viewer’s watch history can change what videos are recommended to them. I also learned that viewer satisfaction is super important; KZbin asks viewers for feedback, and that can really impact what gets shown to others. Plus, focusing on specific niches could make it easier to get noticed instead of competing in crowded spaces like Minecraft. I also loved the tip about trying to get your audience engaged right from the start! Gotta grab their attention before they swipe away! Thanks for the great info!

Have been watching for a long time and started my KZbin channel last January. Getting a little closer, but taking a lot more time and work than I thought it would be ! I started an original music video channel though, so that might be why it is all going slower than I expected. I don't have time to promote much, just keep making up songs and doing the weird dream type videos for each one . Got great tips from this channel and like watching the videos and learning how all of this works ! Worked on my channel early this morning and changed around a few more things. Last year went really fast ! Hopefully have learned enough to get my channel going a lot better this year ! Thanks to all at Vidiq and hope the new year goes good for you and all of us new channel creators as well !

Ok. Here is a comment. My exact thoughts at 1:04:46 into the video is. "Am I learning any more about how to grow my channel by continuing to watch this particular video and if I click off this video now will I miss out on learning exactly what I need to implement into my videos and KZbin channel? Then if the answer is "no" then I will click off. In this case. So far this video I have been watching in parts for two days and I have learned a lot. So I will continue to watch it to the end.

In my experience, watch time for a new creator is a great metric and I'd probably rank it higher than you guys did. The longer viewers sit down with you, the more they are getting to know you as a person. In the early stages of getting a channel started, people have no idea who you are, so having personal time with a small group of people who watch a large portion of your videos is a great start to spark a growing community. Then, once you have that community, your videos are more likely to take off as you learn more from them. I started my channel with very long challenge-based progression videos for the game I play (MapleStory) and I found that the deep connection I created with my audience really helped me get the snowball rolling. As the series ended, even though I stopped making those types of videos, I was still able to see success (20k+ views on videos) because I had a community that loved my content. Thanks for this great video! Watched it all the way through. Merry XMas and Happy New Years to you all!

I have a video that has 1400 views and from 25-1400 views has not received one more like or comment. How is that realistic? Any idea what is going on?
@MapleBinch Жыл бұрын
I took a look at your video with 1400 views and I think I see why this could be happening. What people comment on a video, they are responding to the value you give them. Value can come in many forms... did you brighten their day by making them laugh? Did you teach them a new skill? Did you make them feel less stressed? You have to think about those things if you want to get engagement. The video that have 1400 views is a 6 second clip of you showcasing your fish bait, but you don't provide any commentary as to why this is the best bait to use, how it's different from the others, etc.. For your future videos, I would suggest thinking of ways that you can give VALUE to the viewer. When you do that, you'll see more growth in your content. Best of luck!@@AnxiousBaits

Started streaming and posting gaming videos and I find that I enjoy it. No much result yet, but keeping up at it is the key. Every posting, I try to improve something- youtube thumbnails, speaking, audio, etc. I am deaf, and audio is a huge issue for me since I can't properly test it for myself, so I ask my friend out when he has the time. The take I get from KZbin is never stop learning- there's always something to improve. There's a quote, that I like-"If you can get 1% better each day for one year, you’ll end up 37 times better by the time you’re done." There's no perfect video that exists, so just get comfortable and be yourself.

For shorts, I find that sometimes changing the title means the difference between 50 views and 2k views. Sometimes it’s waves. I’ll get 50 views initially then 24 hours later I get 2k views. I find that if more than 50% of people offered the shorts swipe away the push slows and eventually stops. One short I had got 100 views then nearly 200 days later it entered into the search rankings and now transformed to 1.3k views. And still growing. It’s insane because I never know exactly what’s going to happen. Sometimes it’s perfect timing and I got over 6k views. Sometimes it bombs and I get 50 views. Sometimes if I remove and re-add it will work. But sometimes I have to force feed the shorts system the same video 5 times before it finally has steam. Now on the long form content. I have one that ran up to 50 views quickly then it died for another 160 days then suddenly it got picked up on search. Then it got browse and then suggested. This video at 160 days was at 50 views. One month later it’s at 1.5k views and still going. This video started testing out shorts to these viewers. Suddenly I had 4 different shorts take off mostly on search. Then 2 of those shorts started getting suggested. And being that I have 3 out of my 270 videos that have been attracting views suddenly my channel went front struggling to getting a lot of views. And within a single month I went from earning just a single subscriber to earning over 100 subscribers in one month. The one widely successful video on my channel has gained over 40 subscribers alone. Which is outstanding and the best performer on my entire channel. It keeps generating plenty of views and it has reliably been bringing in subscribers and plenty of likes. This one video seems to have found pool of people that loves my content. And because of that many have checked out the rest of my channel generating a lot of engagement and keeps pushing the algorithm to expand. In one year I went from 130 subscribers at the start to almost crossing the 700 mark by the end of the year. This is thanks to vidiq! And my biggest advice is exactly what vidiq is saying here. Make videos for your viewers. Videos you enjoy doing and that your good at. And the rest will fall in its place. Took me over 200 videos to realize this. I’m 9 subscribers away from 700. And I have decent confidence I’ll reach it by end of week. And if not I got so close to my milestone that it’s still a huge success for my channel!

I discovered that CTR is not as easy to read as I thought. On the one hand, a higher CTR causes the video to have more views. On the other hand, CTR is related to how many new viewers watch my video. My channel is quite new, so many videos have more new viewers than returning ones. In this case, the CTR is usually lower. In turn, those videos that mainly reach my regular audience have a fairly high CTR. But that doesn't mean they have more views. For example: video 1 - CTR 7.6%, views 457, returning viewers 241 (i.e. more than half of the views); video 2 - CTR 4.8%, views 589, returning viewers 71 (i.e. about 1/7 views). Data after 7 days of display. Both films dealt with a similar topic.

A number of creators in my niche will create eight hour videos, where seven hours is a black screen or static image and sound effects after sleep narration or meditation. I'm curious is this kind of practice could be an issue with staying in the monetization program. It gets the average view time up significantly (since listeners fall asleep and it keeps running) and these channels are growing fast, but is this a good long term strategy?

We upload shorts and I think our shorts are high quality, easy to understand and informative to most people. I just wish KZbin would bring the feature to change thumbnails for shorts on PC. I really believe we could pull more viewers with the right thumbnails, since our stats prove that. Even without custom thumbnails, we had a great start and gained 100 subs in 20 days time. Good to know this. I started running a Facebook ad on a video I linked to my fb page. I was wondering afterwards if it might damage my channel if fb folk don’t want to leave their platform and leave the video immediately when it’s opened. But I might do it again because I don’t know, I’ve made 8 videos so far and gotten 18 subs. I absolutely appreciate each and every viewer and subscriber, but at this rate, I’d have to make 445 videos just to have enough to get monetized. And since I’m making original animated content, all by myself, I’d have to invest 5 years to even see a return of my investment. I’ve heard that kids channels’ rpm are as low as for shorts.

I love your shorts and videos BTW, very helpful!! Jimmy ( Music Lecturer/ pro-musician)

It's crazy to me because my shorts go from hundreds of views to literally tens of views. And they've dropped from thousands. Yet, my channel growth seems to be moving in a positive direction
